One time, only once
They thought of it like they had before
Made for the dunce
Once he knew that he could be more
Two times, barely twice
A wish was made upon a star
Stirred by no more mice
Twice did the afternoon seem afar
Three times, not four
The moons had been like they always were
But at its core
Free were the people to see the Earth
Four times, perhaps five
A station far from home could not hear
Them coming alive
Out there waiting for another year
Five times, I realised
What they had said without saying
The deal finalised
This was waiting, hoping, praying
