Clarke waited until he was fully asleep for a while before climbing out of the bed. With his keys in her shaky hand, she tiptoed out of the bedroom and outside.
Opening his trunk, she pulled out the trash bag. She wasn't sure what time her mother would be home, so she hurried back into the house. Quietly, she closed herself in her bathroom.
She took a deep breath, but it did nothing to calm her shaking body. She ripped open the bag, and gasped. Opening the dress fully, she began to cry.
Falling to her knees, she clutched the dress tightly to her chest. She could remember Indra and Raven helping her. She could remember exactly how she felt as she looked at herself in the mirror. She remembered her heart pounding in excitement and happiness as she was heading for Bellamy.
She stood. With her face still wet, she undressed and stepped into the dress. She turned to the mirror on the back of the door, and covered her mouth to hide the horrified gasp.
The white dress, so perfect, now torn, ripped, and covered in blood. She could see her scar on her abdomen through the bloody rip. The lace sleeve was ripped, dangling sadly.
"Clarke?" Bellamy opened the bathroom door, stunned.
Clarke tried to wipe her face and nose, but what was the point?
"Wh-what are you doing, Princess?"
Clarke sniffled. "I just, I wanted to see it. I remember wearing it," she sobbed. Bellamy wrapped his arms around her, burying her face in his shoulder. "It was perfect. I didn't want you to see it all tore up like this."
Bellamy rubbed her back and brushed her hair down and he held onto her tightly. "It's okay. I never uh, I never wanted to see the dress this way either," he admitted. "But you needed to."
Clarke remained in his arms for a long time before she finally realized that she was a crazy person. Yes, she was glad she could remember the dress in perfect condition, but she was literally in her bathroom, crying, in her destroyed dress.
"I want it off now," she whispered. Bellamy helped her out of it. She saw the destroyed look on his face, so she took it from him. She folded it up and shoved it back in the bag.
They heard the front door open, so she put the bag in her closet and walked hand in hand with Bellamy to the kitchen. Together, they all sat down together to eat the special dinner Indra made. Which was basically a buffet of Clarke's favorite foods.
"How has your day been going?" Abby asked Clarke.
Clarke took a sip of her drink before answering. "It's difficult," she answered, completely honest. "I feel fine, physically. Don't worry. But, I'm still missing a year of my life, except for the few memories I've recovered."
"Have you remembered anything else?" Abby questioned.
"The dress."
Abby was about to take a bite, but instead her mouth clamped shut. "You remember it?"
"I do. I remember the way I looked in that mirror. I remember the happiness I was feeling as I left that day."
"Well, that's wonderful," Abby nodded. "You were extremely happy."
Clarke smiled at Bellamy. Even though she couldn't remember how they'd gotten back together, how they'd grown close once again, she couldn't be that angry. He was hers again.
"Did I miss the announcement that you were dating Marcus?"
Abby choked on her food, going into a coughing fit Clarke's question. She took a sip from her glass before she laughed. "I'm sorry, what? I am not dating Dr. Kane."
Clarke shrugged. "Could've fooled me."
"Well," Bellamy started, tryung to recover the conversation and break the awkward silence. "Raven and John are very excited to spend some time with you before they go. And Indra will be dying to see you. We should have breakfast with her tomorrow, if you're up for it."
"Yes, that's a wonderful idea," Abby agreed. "She asked me a hundred questions while I was picking up dinner."
"Of course," Clarke agreed. Like that even needed to be suggested? "Breakfast with Indra, and then what?"
"Well, I was thinking tomorrow could just be the two of us," Bellamy said. "I had a few places in mind I would like to take you by. Does that sound okay?"
"As if I'd ever say no to time with you," Clarke smiled, brightly. "That sounds perfect."
"Just be careful," Abby warned. "Don't do anything too active."
"Damn, I was thinking of rock climbing," Bellamy joked. "Don't worry."
