Don't Be A Fool

Chapter Six

It's been a few weeks and Geoff hasn't said a word to me. When he comes over he flat out ignores me.

I decided that I was okay with Ian and Alicia dating. Me and Alicia talked and promised each other that whatever happens we won't let it effect our friendship.

I'm at the house by myself right now, but Shawn is on his way so we can watch a movie. It's kind of late already.

I was in the kitchen making popcorn when I hear the doorbell ring. I go to the door and see Dustin standing there.

"What-" "Before you say anything just hear me out." He says and I sigh and nod. "Can you come out to talk?" He asks me. 

I slip on some sneakers I had by the door and go outside to talk. "Look. I'm sorry about all the trouble I've caused you lately. I can't just stop loving you. I don't want to stop loving you." He says.

I smiled a little and let him continue. "I knew that I loved you from the first second I layed eyes on you. I also feel deep down that part of you wants to make us work again too." He says and I sigh.

"Dustin I-""I know you love Shawn, but I think you love me too." He says. "I really don't want to do this right now." I say and get up and go inside hoping he'll leave, but he just follows me inside.

"You are so relentless aren't you?" I turn and tell him once we are inside. "Yes I am because I don't think I should give up on you." He says.

"Dustin you need to move on. I've moved on and now it's your turn. So please just go." I say. "Okay but I need to see something first." He says and before I knew it his lips were on mine.

I stumble back a little and grab onto his shoulders and I'm in shock for a second. 

I didn't kiss back and for the first time I see that there is no feeling left between me and Dustin. 

I slightly pull away and my mind is scrambling the to find the right worlds to say to him. "So I see you've made up your mind." I turn and see Shawn standing at the front door.

"What? Shawn no!" I say and he turns around and leaves. "Look what you did!" I say and shove Dustin.

I run out after Shawn and stop him. "Shawn wait let me explain." I say and grab his arm but he jerks it away.

"No I don't want to here excuses. If you wanted to end things then you could have just told me instead of doing this." He says and opens the door to his car and gets in.

I stop the door from closing and my eyes are watering up. "Shawn please wait." I say. "You're a sucky person you know that right?" He says and shakes his head.

I let go of his door shocked at what he just told me. He drives away and I feel like my heart has just shattered into a thousand pieces.

I go inside and walk up to Dustin. "Rose I-" I cut him off and slapped him across the face. "I do not love you and I hope you got that from that stupid kiss because you just made me lose the most important person in my life!" I say and shove him.

"Rose I'm sorry. I see now that we really are over. I thought I could fix things but I can't. I should have just stayed at home. I knew I shouldn't have listened to Geoff." When he says this I look at him and he immediately gets this look on his face because he just said something he didn't mean to.

"What do you mean you shouldn't have listened to Geoff?" I say. "Did I say that? That's not what I meant." He says but I know he's lying.

"Dustin tell me. Now." I say and he sighs. "Geoff told me that you were here with Shawn and that I should come over and try to convince you one last time to get back together and if you said no I should kiss you. He said something  about how you and Shawn don't need to be together."
