Don't Be A Fool

Chapter Twelve

I got zero sleep last night. I kept tossing and turning and it was just impossible. Geoff slept on the pull out couch in his room and let me have the bed.

I get up and go out onto the balcony. I stand by the edge and lean on it. It's still very dark because it's like four in the morning.

I look out over the city and sigh. Did we do the right thing ending things? I would hate for me and Shawn  to break up in the future and it affect his career and affect me too.

So better to end it now right? I don't know. It's too late now. What's done is done. 

"Hey." I turn and standing on the balcony to my left is Shawn. "Hey." I say and smile like nothing. "Couldn't sleep?" He asks me and I shake my head.

"What about you?" I ask and he shakes his head too. "My parents came to the room earlier." I say.

"What happened?" "They told me about the divorce. Said it was for the best and that things just weren't the same anymore. My dad is getting a new place and because we are all adults now there isn't anything we need to worry about." I sigh and don't look at Shawn because I'm afraid I'll cry.

"I'm sorry. I can't even imagine how this must feel for you." He says. "It's cool. There's nothing I can do about it." I say and shrug.

"We fly out to New York in a week or so." Shawn says and I look at him. "Really? For what?" I ask.

"Well I have some interviews and also an audition for a movie." He says. "Really? What movie?" I ask and he shrugs.

"I have no idea. I won't even get the script until the day of the audition." He says and I nod. "Well that's cool." I say and smile.

"There's a Halloween party coming up. My friend Hailey Baldwin and Kendall Jenner are throwing it. Eveyone is going, you can come if you'd like." He says and I smile and nod.

"Yeah sure. I love Halloween." I say. "Cool. It's a costume party." He says and I nod. "Well then I better find a costume quick." I say and we both faintly laugh.

"Okay well we should probably try to get some sleep." Shawn says and I nod. "Yeah. I'm just gonna stay here for a little longer." I say and he nods before going back inside his hotel.

I sit down and dangle my feet over the edge of the balcony in between the small pillars. I lie back and look up at the sky and the moon.

I close my eyes and within minuets I feel myself falling asleep.

"That's what you're going as?" Geoff asks me. "Yes and you don't get to tell me to change because your my older brother so your vote doesn't count." I say. 

He sighs and rolls his eyes. "At least take a jacket or something." He says and I laugh. "Fine." I say.

I go and look at myself in the mirror and my costume is killer. Eveyone was doing sexy costumes this year so I thought why not?

I'm going as a Greek goddess. I chose something that wasn't too revealing.

 I have on a white flowy dress with slits on the legs and the top has some gold and it wraps around me revealing some of my midsection. I have on some gold heels and braclets to go with it. (A/n: Costume pictured above)

I curled my hair and made it look a little wind swept. I grab a jacket to please Geoff and make my way out of the hotel room.

Just as I was closing the hotel room door and I hear Shawn come from his. "Oh wow, you look...wow." He says and I smile. "Thanks, I like your doctor costume. Let me guess, Grey's Anatomy was your inspiration." I say an she laughs.
