Mrs. Brendon's POV

I came home to meet the house in one piece, thank the heavens they hadn't brought down the house yet, which was a good sign which could mean they had forgiven each other or they were still mad at each other, but I hope to God they had forgiven each other.

I went into my room to change as I called out Laura's name.
She came downstairs minutes later, Elvis by his side which made me smile knowing that they were back together now.
Laura had wanted to help out with dinner but I shooed her away as I called Elvis to help with setting the table instead.

Dinner was pasta with sauce and chicken, and as we ate, I tried to make small talk to lighten the mood, which worked, soon, everyone was pretty much talking at the table, talk off table manners.
After dinner was over, Mr. Kingston retired to the study probably to read as I cleared the table and made small talk with Elvis, telling her that her sisters were coming to visit.

His eyes lit up at the mention of their names, I didn't blame him, my three daughters were all married, Sally the eldest to a doctor in Philadelphia, Anita to a lawyer in Georgia and the youngest Ellen an architect in Venice. Anita is a lawyer, whiles Sally is a nurse and Ellen is a teacher at a local school in Venice.

Elvis hasn't seen much of them after his accident , considering they lived so far away and am sure he had missed them by the way he pegged up at the mention of his siblings.
Elvis asked permission to leave immediately after I was done in the kitchen which did not go quite well with me ,asking him to stay the night which he refused saying he had work early in the morning and he needed to go.

Laura was sad and kept frowning when she heard this, until Elvis whispered  something into her ears which made her giggle and relax immediately, I would never understand these two.
After Elvis had left, I went up to give Mr. Kingston his medicine so he could retire for the night.

And then I helped Laura up the stairs as she held onto me for support .
I made a mental note to take her or get   Elvis to take er for her second  scan tomorrow.

The night was a peaceful one and I woke up more refreshed than ever, I hummed a tune as I went about preparing breakfast and then I went on to wake Kingston up who was grumpy as ever, but then again when has he not?.

Laura followed a little later, complaining about how we needed a lift in the house and how the stairs were too much work.
I laughed as she came to sit down at the breakfast table and took a battered toast, munching into it absent mindedly.

Whiles the rest of the family had breakfast, I went into the kitchen to call Elvis.
Elvis: hello mom

Mrs Brendon: hello son, listen so I was wondering if you could pick up Laura later today for her hospital appointment, she's having her second scan today and I would have taken her but I think you should be there considering you are her husband.

Elvis: okay mom, I will be there.

Twelve minutes later, he was in the driveway waiting for her to come out.
I helped her pack all the stuffs she needed and then escorted her to Elvis's car.
I waved as they drove off edging Elvis to call me when they got back from the hospital.

I went back inside after that and then packed the things I needed for work, when I was done and  I was sure I had everything, I called out to Kingston, and then we headed to work.

For once, I was glad everything was fine, and apparently so was Kingston since I noticed a bounce in his steps these days after Elvis got back with her daughter.
