The Boss
The moment she arrived, the moment my boys brought her, I knew she was special, unlike the other girls whom when they were brought freshly, gave us a hard time. She was quite reserved, and beautiful too, a quality which would do the work perfectly.

Today, she wore a cashmere sweater and a dress which hardly got to her knees, reveling her rich creamy thighs.  She looked innocent and beautiful all at once, all of a sudden, she made me remember the daughter I had lost years ago to a college reunion. I told her not to go that faithful day but as stubborn as she was, she ignored me all together and drove away, the result was a dead girl with a battered face and a smashed car and I was the one to suffer, the one to live with  the pain.

She was the reason for my acceptance into this work. She was the reason I took these young girls and nurtured them to become brave and protectors of the society.  She was the reason I took upon myself the   THE INTERNATIONAL SECRET SOCIETY REBORN Centre.

My Cindy  just like any other college student, was full of life and liked to take risks and go on adventures. Most of the time, I had to bail her out of a lot of trouble she got herself into, but even after everything, she was my daughter and I could not disown her.

You see, my daughter and I had been through so much, and so I wanted her to have the best of everything. When she was eight years old, I lost my wife to cancer, and we both struggled through watching her deteriorating with each passing day.

After her mother's death, I tried to marry again so that she would have a mother's love but sadly, no woman was able to fill the void that Selena had left behind, in the end, I gave up all together and raised her all by myself.

My younger brother at the time, Kwasi Brendon offered to let Cindy stay with his family but I refused, she was the only one I had at the time. Kwesi lost his life two years later after his new born baby boy was born.

The day before the accident, she and I had just returned from a family bonding time in Australia, and we were really in good spirit, we ordered Chinese since she was too tired to cook and we spoke at length, way into the night  before I realised she was dosing off and asked her to go to bed.

The next morning, she went to the saloon as her hair was in a mess, and she needed a new hairdo. I went to work. In the evening, she called me and informed about a college reunion she wanted to attend, I outrightly refused to let her and we argued.

She got into her car and drove off without my permission. The next thing I heard was she was dead. Her car was run over and unrecognized. I couldn't even make out the person who lay in the car s the face was seriously screwed.

I remember the pain that tore through me as the police  dragged me away from the scene, then and there, I told myself that I life had taken so much from me and I wasn't about to let it take everything.

I Smiled sadly as she looked up, fear written all over her face even though she tried to hide it. I told her my reason for calling her and I watched on as she battled internally as to whether she should talk or not, in a way, she acted just like my Cindy, this is how my Cindy would have looked like if she had lived. Beautiful and graceful.

To my surprise, she decided to keep quiet instead which was unusual for her. I waited patiently for her to say something but silence. After waiting for a while and she saying nothing, I looked up at her and asked her if she had anything to say, she shook her head indicating that she had nothing to say.

I then told her she could leave and prepare for her trip which was in the evening.
The ISSRC  traveled at night not just for the fun of it but to make sure that any encounters with
Old friends or parents were avoided and that is how we have survived for this long. After she had left, I went back to the tax at hand to erase her past life to prevent unnecessary search parties and investigations.

I phoned the airport which she was to travel through to inform them about one of our new people passing through their airport, this was to ensure that they gave her the much needed privacy and she didn't have to go to the normal security check point, instead she would be allowed to pass through without any hustle.

I couldn't wait to see how she would come out after the training and the things she could do as well.
I have watched many girls go to that training camp and come back as better persons, better than they would have ever become in their life if not for me. Better than they were previously with more grace and confidence than before. I just couldn't wait.

A sudden ringing of the telephone startled me out of my riverine, I rushed to go and get my coat because without picking up, I knew it was my lunch break as soon as I checked the time. Time  TO EAT LIKE A BOSS.
