Sandra
After we had escaped from the villains, we walked on through the woods, being careful to hide whenever we heard a slight noise to prevent any surprise attacks.

We moved on like that until it was at night and we couldn't go any longer due to invisibility. There was fog everywhere, and besides we were all tired,  so we hid behind some bushes, and after spreading our clothes, we sat down to rest.

I looked up at the children before me and wondered how cruel the world was. The children huddled closer to me, scared out of their wits, I didn't blame them, it was not their faults and besides, they were too young to be out here by this time of the night.

I grieved for the parents who had lost their little ones all in the name of an educational trip. I was the first to fall asleep, playing superhero was hard work, unlike how they made it look easy in the movies.

I shuddered as the night wind blew fiercely by, causing me to curl up into a ball, and cover myself with the extra jacket I had brought along and  went back to sleep.

I woke up with a start, something had moved on my left, scared, I pulled myself into a ball and closed my eyes tight. I did this back home when I used to get scared sleeping in my apartment alone.  Sometimes after watching a scary movie, I would curl up into a ball and pull my blanket around me as I tried to imagine things about food and sweets.

I opened my eyes, as I realised it was only Afrakomaa moving in her sleep. I heaved a sigh of relieve.  After, sleep took over again.
Morning took us by surprise,  we got up and collected the stuff we had slept on, and continued the journey, no one spoke at this moment, we walked on, each person to their own thoughts.

We had walked for sometime, and my legs were beginning to get sore so we stopped for a while and got comfortable under a nearby tree, where we took the food we had collected, and passed it around so everyone could have their share.

There was bread and honey, and that was all what it entailed. We were there for a while, and when we felt rested enough, we continued walking. We had walked for a while, still not seeing any signs of civilization when we came upon two paths, one to the left and the other to the right.

As  we wondered which path to take, Akua suggested we took the right path, so we did, and as we progressed, we noticed that we were finally  getting into a habited part of town. We were so fortunate as we walked among the many people who were holding baskets and were buying from the various vendors of vegetables and the like.

it was no doubt it was a market, and a very large one at that. We quickly lunged ourselves into the crowd of people, been careful not to lose ourselves by holding hands. We got to another part of the market where clothes were sold, I turned to ask a lady the name of the market when suddenly, I spotted Jonas, our eyes met briefly before I took to my heels, the other's took hint and followed closely by.

The thousands of people crammed at the market, all coming for shopping made my running and keeping up with the kids at the same time a difficult one. I muttered a sorry here and  there as women whose wares had upturned as a result of my running cursed loudly after me.

I ran like I was never going to ran again in my life, like my entire existence depended on it, which literally it did.  After a while, I looked back and noticed that I had lost the other kids, as I turned around, not knowing where to run next, Jonas suddenly appeared from nowhere and held unto my hand. Thank me later he said, as he dragged me along, all the way to the camp.

The journey back to camp was a silent one, no one spoke, and as much as I wanted cry, l was not going to do it in front of this scumbag. He looked up at me at some point in the journey, and tapped my back, a smile evident on his face. I shoved his hands of my back, Irritated to the brim.

Everyone was staring as usual, but this time even more than the first time I arrived here. I stared back to give them a warning to fuck off my case. I didn't need any bully at this present place, not today, not ever.
I was taken into the same office where I was taken the first time I arrived here.

The same man I met the day I was brought to the camp, was sitting down on his  seat.  I assumed he was probably the administrator of the camp. He was a white tall British man of about five feet tall, and he had a scar that run from his forehead to his chin, giving him the "you don't want to mess with me" look.

He looked up at me in all smiles, I mean I just broke a rule, wasn't I supposed to be punished or something along those lines?, instead here he was grinning like an incorrigible bastard. "You are really a tough one and the bravest I have seen among these girls in a while.

We intentionally left that opening in the wall, and we watched you
as you escaped, because we knew you wouldn't go far, but we didn't expect you to wander of like that poking your nose into people's affairs, those kids you saved, that was so brave of you, they have been taken to their various homes and you have training in the evening so get your fat ass up and go and wash down, and oh!, remember to  take a rest, you look like shit. He said this, all in one breath.

I got up and just left even though there was a whole lot of things I wanted to say to him, too stunned to utter a word.  I rushed out of the office, the rage evident in my eyes.

This was just cruel, I wasted all this nights in the forest and risked getting caught by cannibals for nothing. It  was all a  setup all this while, and I took the bait like the hungry fish I was.

I rushed into my room and buried my face in my pillows and wept. At least I was grateful that those kids got home finally, how I wish I could go home too, but home was a far distance away.
