PUZZLE PIECES

"If it's possible for one person to be hurt by another, then it's possible for that person to be healed by another."

Fuck.

My mom would kill me if she can hear what I've been saying in my head lately. She's very strict when it comes to cussing. But the moment this Xander guy gave me that smile, I know I'm in danger. I regret for treating him like that yesterday.

Prof. Morris looked around for a vacant seat.

Oh please, not here.

Not here beside me.

But I know it's impossible because only one seat is vacant.
"You can sit at the back."

Oh crap! What a lucky day. I want to protest but I don't want to get humiliated in front of the class. So I keep my mouth shut, glaring at the guy walking towards the seat beside me.

What a prick.

He sits beside me and whispers, "Hi, stupid."

I want to wipe off that smirk plastered on his face. His ego is really large that crushing it would be the best thing. I don't want to be contaminated or even associated with this guy.

"Hello, my dear oaf," I answer with sarcasm in my voice, without looking at him. I can feel his aura become darker when I said those words.

Ha! A smile tugged on my lips, thinking that this guy will not be able to intimidate me. Girls may praise him, flirt with him but not me. I'm not going to join their club.

I admit he's a good-looking guy but I hate air-head guys. Silence took over the entire class. Only the voice of Prof. Morris and the sound of chalk can be heard. I wonder if an angel has passed by.

I can't concentrate and you know why. I would take down few notes and then my mind will wander around. But throughout the class, I noticed this oaf beside me, is actually taking down notes. Well, I thought he's going to sleep in here. Guys with bad boy features like him don't take down notes. So I was a bit surprised when I saw him actually listening to our boring lessons.

I frown. Why do I even bother?

Erase. Erase.

Finally, Prof. Morris dismissed us. I put all my things inside my bag, got up from my chair and walk outside the room. When I walked into the cafeteria, I almost trip for there was a girl who decided to do it purposely.  She walked away with a bitchy smile on her lips.

"I saw that, Xandria. Want me to make that bitch, bald?"

I almost had a heart attack when Kate suddenly emerged right in front of me. I don't want to cause any trouble so I just shook my head. Thankfully, Kate didn't protest but instead, gave me a frown.

As we are walking towards our usual table, whispers and looks didn't stop from this morning. Once again, I ignored them. I won't let them bring me down.  They don't even know what I've been going through right now. I sat down across from Kate. Kent used to sit with us but since we broke up, its only me and Kate.

I groaned internally.

Xandria, what did I tell you about moving on?

"So how's your first day?" Kate asks.  I know she's asking, "How's your first day without Kent?"
