~3 days later~
Sulaiman was sitting at their living room talking with a few people when Mariam walked inside with a frown not knowing who they were, but still, she went and greeted them and to her surprise it was Zahran with his family, she immediately lowered her gaze and ran off as she got interrupted.
"So someone is getting married....?" her aunt Khadeeja teased smirking.
Mariam had no words she grinned like a child and ran to her room, she went and made wudu and prayed asr as her father came inside and sat quietly on her bed.
"If you're really happy we will tell a 'yes' to them," Sulaiman spoke with creased eyebrows.
"It's your wish dad if it's a yes I'll be more than happy," she whispered looking down playing with the corner of her stole.
"Mm-hm, but then I heard this is also your wish!" He laughed sarcastically.
"Dad! What do you mean?" Her eyes grew wide.
"Look, Amina told me about this long back when myself and your uncle were talking about you're wedding, if Amina never told us we would have looked for someone else, I didn't expect you to do this, but I'm happy for you, I actually know his family since we were in Abu Dhabi,"He spoke looking at her with changing expressions.
"Err..umm Oh," she murmured looking pale. She felt like slapping and hugging Amima at the same time.
Sulaiman kissed her forehead and left the room giving her an assuring smile.

"I can't believe what you have done! You made my day... I feel like slapping and hugging you at the same time," Mariam clapped her hands in glee.
"Well, in that case, I choose option two!" Amina shrugged smirking.
Mariam threw her hands around her and crushed her bones by hugging.
"Leave me! I can't even breathe," She shouted pulling off from Mariam
"But why did you tell?" Mariam asked as the fact of her father knowing this suddenly hit her.
"I didn't want to tell or something but I heard my dad and Sulaiman uncle talking about an alliance for you and they were almost ok about it so basically I had to spill the beans," Amina said shrugging.
Both of them started talking about the wedding and Amina was excited more than Mariam.
That night Mariam and Amina were sleeping and Mariam got a call from the hospital but this time it was not Zahran messing around with her.It was the first time Mariam delivering a baby since she started going to the hospital, though she was nervous she finally did it.
Mariam returned home as her father came up to her and handed her a small box. Mariam looked at him knowing what it was. Before she could ask anything her dad said.
"Yesterday itself they gave me the ring..umm as the engagement ring," Sulaiman smiled weakly knowing his daughter would be leaving him soon."Oh so soon?!" She questioned as her eyes grew wide exposing her golden colour.
"Hmm... In sha Allah after four months my daughter will be getting married," Sulaiman said looking happy and sad at the same time.
Mariam couldn't control her tears anymore, Sulaiman patted her back and said,"Getting married doesn't mean you're not my daughter."
"I know..well nothing my eyes are sweating that's all," she chuckled sarcastically.
Mariam opened the box and saw the ring which was obviously gorgeous but she wished that her Fiancè could do the honours of slipping the ring in her finger, though she knows this wasn't their culture, she chucked off the thought and kept the ring in the box, and went to have a shower after her long tiring hours at the hospital.
She put some redox bath bubbles into the tub and got in letting the water soak in her skin."Mariam!! It's almost an hour since you're in the bathroom, come down for dinner your father is waiting," Khadeeja screamed through the bathroom door knocking.
Mariam got out of the tub and wrapped her hair with a micro fibre towel as she got down for dinner."So at least for four months you and Zahran shouldn't see each other or talk!" Her aunt Khadeeja said as a matter-of-fact.
As they both were chatting after dinner while Khadeeja was drinking a cup of milk with saffron in it.
"Fine I won't talk but then we would obviously see each other, we work at the same hospital," she said coolly, as Amina laughed.
"I see madam but then at least for four months you people should stay away from each other," Her aunt said controlling her smile.
"Fine I'll try," Mariam said rolling her eyes.
"I don't trust you both, and aunty please don't believe whatever Mariam says," Amina said crossing her hands.
Mariam texted Zahran telling she liked the ring.
Zahran: Have you worn it yet? 12.23AM.
Mariam: No..I'll wear it tomorrow In sha Allah. 12.34AM.
Zahran: No don't. Bring it to the hospital I wanna see the ring. 12.36AM.
Mariam was confused about why he wanted to see it.
*********
"Come with me please!" Zahran said as he caught Mariam's wrist for the first time in six months."Ouch! That hurts!" She squealed pulling her hand out of his grip.
"Sorry just come down with me please," he said making a puppy face.
He asked her the ring box and she gave him looking totally confused.
He took out the ring and again caught her wrist as Mariam's eyes grew wide and her jaw dropped down.He slipped the ring onto her finger and whispered,
"Sorry for doing all this before nikkah, may Allah forgive me."And ran off from her sight leaving her behind.
"How cute you both are!" Hira squealed like a child from behind and Mariam was already in a tomato colour, completely flushed with her blood rushing to every part of her body.
Though she liked what he did, she felt little bad because just yesterday she said she would try to steer clear of him.
