"Miss Sugg" my textiles teacher repeated again as I dropped the black pen on the notes page. "As I was saying" she rolled her eyes. "Your final exams are approaching meaning next year you would have left. The fashion and beauty industry may be tough but with the skills you have learnt will benefit you. I will repeat again your final exams are in a week, I will need your coursework handed in by tomorrow". Even though my exams were next week, I wasn't prepared. Finally I had made up with Joe, however I could see Louise and Tanya becoming closer and closer.

I'm loosing a best friend but gained Alfie.

I'm not really sure if me and Alfie were official we acted as friends in front of the gang but as a couple when we wasn't with them.

"Have you finished your coursework Zoe" our teacher sat down beside me peering over my shoulder at the notes page where I wrote mine and Alfie's name.

"nearly" I said hesitantly covering page.

"In love?" She asked raising her eyebrow.

"Yeah" I shrugged.

"Don't let this boy distract you from your exams" she warned me. "It's a teenage crush".

4 words made me doubt Alfie and I relationship.

"May I go to the toilets?" I asked as she nodded her head, letting me escape the room. Casually but panicking inside I walked towards the toilets, where I could be alone. Shutting the cubical toilet behind me I found my phone receiving a text from Alfie.

hey do you want to go and get something to eat after last lesson?

It can be a date or not a date, I don't mind. Xxx

I smiled happily to myself, in your face thinking it's a teenage crush. I came out of the cubical applying a layer of lipgloss. When my silence was broken.

"nice to see you here Zoe" Tanya said in a bittersweet tone, moving her glaring eyes up and down my body as I stood there biting my lip. I smiled back making my way past her. "Going so soon?" She said firmly grabbing my hand tight.

"I've got to go, I'm meeting.."

"Alfie?"

"How did you know?" I asked as she laughed.

"Your not denying it" she rolled her eyes as she laughed. "I might go and talk to Jack about yours and Alfie's little date".

"Go on see if i care" I smirked.

"Haven't you heard what Jack did to the last boyfriend of the girl he fancied" she gasped sarcastically as I shook my head. "Poor guy, Jack sent him to hospital with a broken nose and sprained arm"

"He wouldn't do that to Alfie, there best friends".

"The boy and Jack were best friends before as well" she smile." I'll be careful if I was you, don't want poor Alfie getting hurt".Worried and confused, I stormed out of the toilets ignoring Tanya annoying laughter. I shuffled my feet along the corridors until entering the dorm room section.

Being confident was defiantly not one of my best qualities, looking up at Alfie's handsome face thinking he deserve better than me. One of my hands hands was wrapped around Alfie's arm as he opened the car door. "Where are we going Alfred?" I giggled slightly as I sat down, Alfie smirked as he wondered around the other side opening the car door.

"It's a surprise little one" he joked poking his tongue out at me.

"Little one" I laughed at the silly nickname as my cheeks redden. "Please tell me Alfred" I begged giving him a pout.

"You'll find out soon enough" he placed the keys into the engine starting the car. "What happened to you last lesson, Louise said you didn't come back to class?"

I but my lower lip hard. "I went to the toilet and decided to go to the library" I lied. "Checking up on me huh?" I teased.

"Yeah" he laughed turning the corner then stopping.

"Why are we stopping here?" I asked worried as I looked over the bonnet at the lake.

"Our dinner" he laughed opening the car door then clambering out, into the open air.

"I've never had an outside date before. I've never had a real date before" I said truthfully as I followed Alfie's lead to a rug and picnic basket.

"I better make it a good first first date then" Alfie said smiling as we both sat down inches away from each other. Alfie carefully opened the basket relieving cakes,strawberries,drinks,sausage rolls,sandwiches,crips,pizza and doughnuts.

"Healthy" I joked. "You know how to spoil a girl".

"I learnt that from the foster carer, she said always treat her like a princess if you want to be her prince" Alfie said sweetly as I watched him describe his foster carer.

"was she nice?" I asked wanting to know about Alfie's childhood.

"she's was alright, strict to the younger children expect me. She gave me £250 to find me for college, so I liked her" Alfie smiled. "She was like a mother figure to me".

"I wish I had a proper mother figure" I sighed titling my head towards Alfie's. "She would drink until she physically couldn't splutter a word. I remember being ten when my dad went out to work rather late and my mum sneaked out to the pub. I waited from 9pm when she tuck Joe and I in bed, till 1am when the pub shut. She would crawl across the road screaming at the top of her lungs surround be her friends. She just managed to sneak into the house before my dad came home from work at 3am. Then she got caught when I was 16, dad make her go to rehab then that's when we found out she had" I started loose breath feeling my emotions like a wave.

"Cancer" Alfie whispered as I nodded my head slightly. "We both had shitty parents".

"Yeah" I sipped my diet coke as Alfie looked up at the pitch black sky.

"Should we swim in the lake?" He asked with a deviously smile.

"What?" I laughed thinking Alfie was joking. "You mean now?"

"Yeah, cause like you have learnt you only live once" Alfie laughed pulling his t-shirt off, looking at my worried expressing he handed his hand to me. "I'm a good swimmer I'll look after you".

Inside of me, felt a warm sensitisation of my belief that Alfie would like after me.
