Zoe's P.O.V

I'm scared.

Scared that Jack will hurt Alfie.

That Alfie will find someone else.

I'm scared that my heart will be broken by the only boy who seemed to care for it.

And now Alfie probably hates me, as I was too scared to run after him.

I hadent spoken to Alfie since he walked out, i missed him. I grabbed my fridge shoulder bag and took one last look in the full length mirror, before existing the dorm room. I decided to wear a baggy white t-shirt and stripy denim trousers and sunglasses covering up my bloodshot eyes from crying I placed the oversized glasses over my eyes. I shrug at my grungy appearance, walking out of the school gates. It seemed like years the first time myself and Joe nervously wondering through as new students.

The first day I came here, was the first day I laid eyes on Alfie Deyes.

I carried on walking down the high street turning corners recognising similar shops we had back home. 20 minutes of walking made my feet begin to ache, eventually I found a peacefully park seating down on the over growing green grass staring at the lake opposite me.

" 1 2 3, jump" an voice laughed louder as I jerked my head behind me noticing a muscular figure holding onto a child's hand as they walked closer towards me.

"Again again" the small child repeated.

A father and daughter.

"are you ok?" I frozen letting a tear slide down my cheek, then looking up at the familiar bushy eyebrow boy. "Stupid question, I'm sorry Zoe for walking out yesterday. You deserve much better than me".

"you deserve so much more better than me" I said truthfully as Alfie sat down beside me.

"I honestly believe Jack has an interest in you, if you want to be with him it's fine with me" Alfie said looking shyly at the grass.

"Why would I want to be with Jack? When I have you mr Deyes?" I asked as Alfie shook his head.

"Because he's better looking" I snorted rather loud making heads turn as I blushed.

"Better looking, Alfie your hot" I admitted then turned bright red.

"Why thank you" Alfie said sarcastically.

"No really Alfie, my affection for you is growing faster than lightening. I guess you can say I have a crush on you" I giggled.

"well then will you be officially be my girlfriend?" He asked poking his tongue out.

"Does that question need an answer?" I teased, as he laid a gently peck on my forehead. We laid in absolute silent, my head laid across his chest as he stroke every stand if my hair delicately. My ears listening to sound of his heart beat like a lullaby.

"promise me one thing Zoe, if anything bad happens to us you will carry on as normal and forget about me" Alfie said as his bottom lip quivered.

"Nothing will happen, we love each other" I said rolling my eyes playfully.

"Zoe please" Alfie pleaded. "Like if we go our different ways after college, you'll forget about me don't wait for me".

"We will be together" I sighed hopelessly as Alfie pouted at me. "Ok I promise".

I'll never forget you,

the way you held me in your arms,

or the way you rescued me

when my back was against the wall,

You always made me smile no matter the situation,

I thought it would last forever...

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Joe asked as we approached the driveway, I glanced over at my brother who was muttering under his breath.

"Nan and granddad are the family we have left, mum wanted us to be close" I reminded Joe as he nodded showing a small smile. I carefully unlocked the car stepping my feet out of the car as Joe paid the taxi man.

"hope there in" Joe chuckled as he softly pressed the bell, we waited for a moment as shuffling was heard behind the door. Then the chains being unlocked opening the the door.

"Joe. Zoe." Our nan said in disbelief as we smiled back at her. "Oh my darlings" she said happily bringing us both into a hug.

"We've missed you" I spoke for myself and Joe as our nan admired our body's.

"Still as beautiful and handsome as ever" she giggled letting us in the house. "I've missed you two" she added as we swiped our feet.

"Where's granddad?" Joe asked peering around the doors.

"He's in the living room" nan told Joe as he hurried down the hall to the left corner into the living room as I slowly walked behind with my nan. "Darling, are you ok?" She asked nervously.

"I'm fine" I nodded biting my lower lip. "It's just I've really missed you and granddad, I only have you two and Joe now as family" I sighed.

"Your father was a waste of space anyway" she cussed my dad as I heard the voice of my granddad calling my name.

"Where's my Zoe" he called as I caught him siting in his arm chair, with a smile. "There she is" he laughed as he wrapped his fragile arms around my frame.

"I've missed you granddad" I kissed him on the head as I sat myself beside Joe.

"How's college?" Our nan finally asked.

"It's really good" Joe spoke proudly telling nan and granddad about his subjects and how he's made good progress. "And Zoe has a boyfriend" he blurted out.

"Oh Zoe" my nan sounded shocked as my granddad smiled sweetly. "What's this lads name then?"

"Alfie" I said quietly.

"Alfie" my nan said raising her eyebrows. "Well I hope he treats you right not like your father did with your mother" she shook her head frowning.

"We've got our school prom in a few weeks" Joe added lightening the mood.

"And I guess Alfie is taking you to prom?" My nan asked as I nodded showing a small smile.

"Get the money" my granddad demanded as my nan scuttled towards the shelf retrieving granddads wallet. "Here get yourself a nice dress and a suit, I want my grandchildren the best dressed ones there" he said smiling as Joe carefully took the money.

"Thanks granddad" Joe said chuffed, I blew a kiss to my elderly granddad as he laughed. Nan looking less impressed.

"So you've come round here for money?" She said changing her mood towards us.

"No" I said firmly. "We both love you and don't need your money".

"Were family and one day we might need you desperately" Joe added.

Quick note, this a filler chapter I just thought it would be nice to add granddad chippy in(:
