Marinette went to school the next day with Alya. Alya never left her side in case Marinette got akumatized. She vowed to protect her best friend, no matter what.
"Alya, please let me transform," whispered Marinette just so that Alya could hear.
"That's not a good idea," cried Tikki, so loudly that some of Marinette's classmates turned their heads to face her.
"I'm gonna have to say, I agree with her," whispered Alya.
The girls continued their journey up the stairs and into class but was stopped by Adrien and Chloe kissing just outside of the classroom.
"I can't do this anymore!" wailed Marinette as she ran back down the stairs.
"Marinette!" yelled Alya, running after her.
"Uh oh!" whispered Trixx.
"That's exactly what I hoped would not happen!" whispered Alya, picking up the pace as she searched for her best friend.
Meanwhile, Adrien stopped when Alya left. He felt his heart shatter as he saw Marinette run away from him.
"I hate you!" hissed Adrien, tears welling in his eyes.
"You mean..."
"I meant I love you," he sighed, knowing Chloe could destroy the Agreste reputation.
"Good. Thank you ever so much Adrikins," said Chloe, a smile plastered onto her wicked face. She strutted into class and took her seat, leaving a depressed Adrien in the corridor.
"Kid, your a bad kid. Don't worry about your reputation and go after Marinette," whispered Plagg, trying to make everyone feel better.
"I know I am Plagg. And I can't go after her... no matter how much I love Marinette," said Adrien with a sigh.
"Then tell Nino! Just tell someone who can help," suggested Plagg.
"Can't. If I tell anyone.."
"She will ruin your reputation. Yeah yeah. You care about fame not love," groaned Plagg.
"Not exactly. Well yes... I do. But... not my fame," said Adrien, stumbling over his words.
"Oh my god! Give me your ring!" groaned Plagg
"Why?"
"JUST DO IT!" yelled Plagg. Adrien looked around to see if anyone had heard him. To his surprise, no one did. Everyone was trying to get to class on time so had no interest in him.
He looked down sadly and did as he was told before letting Plagg back into his pocket.
Meanwhile...
Alya had managed to find Marinette and convinced her to go to class. She did it unwillingly. She wanted to be alone. To just sit there and cry. But Hawkmoth prevented people from showing any sign of negative emotions.
The girls sat where they'd usually sit. As class began, Plagg carefully flew out of Adrien's pocket and into Marinette's purse. He knew Adrien needed time alone to think about his mistakes. In addition, he really liked Marinette. If Adrien knew where he went, he would definitely approve of Plagg's choice.
"Ouch," yelped Plagg, as he crashed into Marinette's phone.
"Who's there?" whispered Tikki, sitting up straight.
"Hi Tikki," said Plagg with a smirk and a wave.
"Plagg? Your supposed to be with Adrien! Wait what's that?" questioned Tikki, looking at the huge thing he was carrying.
"Adrien's ring," said Plagg with a sad smile
"Why is it here? What have you done?" whispered Tikki in a harsh tone.
"He cares about fame more than love so I am taking his honour away!"
"What?" hissed Tikki.
"I'll explain more on the way to Marinette's house."
After school, Marinette ran home without looking back. Alya and Nino followed but were far behind her.
"You took a while," whispered Marinette, as her friends came through the door.
"Your... a... fast... runner," said Nino, as he put his hands on his knees and breathed in heavily to get his breath back.
They all went up to Marinette's room and the kwamis came out.
"Plagg?" gasped Nino.
"Your Adrien's kwami!" exclaimed Alya.
"Marinette, did you steal Plagg?" asked Wayzz, eyeing her suspiciously.
"What? No! Wait what?" cried Marinette seeing Plagg with his ring.
"I came to Marinette myself!" explained Plagg.
"Why?" asked Trixx.
"Adrien cares about fame more than love," answered Plagg.
"So why have you got his ring?" asked Nino.
"I had to take it away from him," said Plagg with a sigh.
"So, who's the new Chat Noir?" asked Alya, frowning.
"Ladybug," smiled Plagg looking at Marinette.
"You can't! Master Fu won't allow it!" cried Wayzz.
"If she combines the bug miraculous and he cat, she can haveultimate power. I have chosen Marinette," explained Plagg, ignoring Wayzz
"Woah!" gasped Alya and Nino.
"But... what will my name be?" asked Marinette.
"LadyNoir?" suggested Wayzz.
"ChatBug?" suggested Trixx.
"I think LadyNoir," said Marinette, feeling the sadness drain away from her.
"Has this cheered you up a bit?" asked Alya. Marinette nodded.
"What will she say to transform?" asked Alya.
"Tikki, Plagg, unify!" explained Tikki.
