It was a warm, spring day in Paris and Marinette had a good feeling. She had stayed up all night with Alya practicing what she would say to Adrien. Today was the day. She knew it!
She spotted Adrien standing outside of the school, waving goodbye to his driver.
"Hey Adrien!" she cried, feeling an overwhelming sense of courage come over her as she walked up to him.
"Oh hey!" said the beautiful model with a smile. "What's up?" Marinette took a few deep breaths and blushed a deep red.
"I was just wondering... Do you perhaps want to go out... on a date?" asked Marinette nervously, looking down at her feet.
"Wow... I wasn't expecting that. Um... there's no easy way of saying this since you're my best friend but I... I am already dating someone," explained Adrien, in utter shock. He didn't want to hurt his best friend's feelings. He had no idea that she felt that way for him.
"Oh... of course. How silly of me! I mean, you're Adrien. Of course you're taken. See you in class!" said Marinette. Her heart broke into millions of pieces but she didn't want to crumble in front of him. She still wanted to be his friend.
She walked away sadly, feeling as if he had grabbed her heart and squeezed on it tightly, making her unable to breathe. She sat down on the steps next to Alya, who had seen the whole thing, and led her head on Alya's shoulder. Alya wrapped her arm around Marinette and pulled her into a hug.
"It's ok girl. He doesn't deserve you. Besides, there is always Luka," sighed Alya, feeling forlorn for her best friend.
Chloe strutted up to Adrien and put her arms around his neck.
"I'd love to tell her that he's already dating someone else!" groaned Marinette, glancing in that direction. "At least she wouldn't get him. That would make this day 1 billion times worse."
"Hi Adrikins!" said Chloe, with mega happiness in her voice.
"Hey Chlo," said Adrien with a smile as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Since when does he call Chloe, Chlo?" whispered Marinette. Alya shrugged.
Adrien pulled her into a quick kiss and Marinette felt like her heart had been glued back together only to be smashed with a huge crane. She felt that if she were to cry, her tears would tear the world apart.
"Oh Marinette!" whispered Alya, feeling her pain. Except she wasn't. No one could possibly imagine the pain Marinette was feeling.
Nino walked up to Alya and Marinette and took his headphones off his ears and left them holding on to his neck.
"Hey girls. Oh my gosh! What happened?" asked Nino, as he looked at Marinette's face. She was fighting to not cry. Alya pointed over to Chloe and Adrien making lovey-dovey comments to each other.
"What the hell is going on?" whispered Nino, feeling confused.
"The evil witch Chloe has cast a love spell on Adrien and now he's head over heels in love with her. I mean, no one can be head over heels in love with Chloe Bourgeois... except of course Kim. But he's... special," explained Alya, growling as she said 'Chloe Bourgeois'.
"I thought he was like us. I... I can't be friends with Adrien if he thinks the world of Chloe. No one likes her because she is such a bully. She bullies his own friends!" cried Nino, putting his hands in his pockets.
They caught Adrien and Chloe whispering to each other before Adrien climbed on a wall and stood tall.
"Attention everyone! I don't usually like putting myself out there much but I had to share the news! Chloe and I are dating! Isn't that amazing?" he announced.
Everybody remained silent. There were a couple groans and murmurs but apart from that, no one wanted to know him anymore.
"What's going on?" asked Adrien sadly, hating the deadly silence and boos. "I thought people would care about the girl who makes me happy.
"How dare you all talk to my boyfriend like that!" shrieked Chloe.
Then, everybody joined in with the boos. Every teenager started yelling at them. Every fan girl, every friend.
Adrien caught sight of Nino joining in with the shouting and marched over to him.
"How could you? I thought you were my friend!" snapped Adrien, as he threw a lame punch towards Nino.
Nino defended himself by ducking underneath his arm and holding onto his hat.
They got into a fight. Well... a weird one. Adrien threw pathetic punches and Nino dodged them all. Adrien may have went to fencing and was the best at it, but he was no good at when it came to fighting with fists.
Chloe got in the way of Adrien and let out a blood-curdling scream.
"Chlo, are you ok?" asked Adrien, putting his arms to his sides.
"I'm ok now that you two have stopped fighting. You could've really gotten hurt," said Chloe sadly.
Marinette stood up and storme off to the girls bathrooms. Alya and Nino left the scene and went to class.
"I can't do this Tikki. The love of my life is in love with the girl he knows torments me and everyone around us everyday and he doesn't care! I loved him!" cried Marinette as she burst into tears.
"I know Marinette. I wish I could let you cry but with Hawkmoth being who he is, he would make you one of the most powerful akumas Paris has faced and you are the only one who could stop the akuma," warned Tikki.
Marinette took a few minutes to wipe her tears away and calm down before heading to class. There were a few adjustments to the seating plan. Nino moved seats so that he wasn't sat next to Adrien, so Adrien was left on his own. Only because Miss Bustier wouldn't let Chloe switch seats with Nino and leave Sabrina.
"Nino, may I have a word?" asked Miss Bustier. He nodded and followed the teacher outside of the classroom.
"Marinette, what's up with Nino? Why is he acting like this all of a sudden?" asked Adrien, as he turned to face Marinette. Marinette turned her head so she couldn't see Adrien and Alya ignored him. Adrien sighed and gave up. Clearly, they weren't friends worth keeping if they would ignore him like that.
After school, Adrien stood outside by the steps. He was waiting for Chloe to get out of school so they could go home together.
"Hey ADRIKINS!" squealed Chloe, as she came out of the doors.
"Hey Chloe," sighed Adrien sadly, seeming distant.
"What's wrong Adrikins?" asked Chloe, getting worried for her boyfriend.
"My friends are ignoring me," he said, coming back to reality.
"I don't know why you don't just ditch them. They're good for nothing, especially Maribrat. Anyway, who's more important? Them or me? I'm the one who really cares," said Chloe, rolling her eyes.
"I s'pose you're right. Thanks Chlo," said Adrien. He held an arm out for Chloe and they linked arms before getting into Chloe's limousine.
Meanwhile, in Marinette's room...
Crash!
Marinette's head perked up at the sound.
"Did you hear that?" asked Marinette, as she stared out of her window.
"Yes. Is it an akuma attack?" asked Nino.
"Maybe. I think it's time to transform," said Alya with a smile.
"Agreed."
"Tikki spots on!"
"Wayzz, shell on!"
"Trixx, let's pounce!"
The three of them had decided to reveal to each other as they knew they could trust each other. They knew that no one could get them to reveal the identity of another.
So guys that's the new and improved chapter 1. I made it longer and hopefully better. Let me know what you think.
