We were almost at the other end of the woods when Kyle suddenly slowed to a halt, and sniffed the air around. I stopped close behind him, and sniffed the air, too. Suddenly, I caught a faint werewolf scent nearby. Kyle looked at me, and he seemed to have smelled it, too. We followed the scent, and sniffed in all directions before finally pointing our noses above where the scent was coming from.

Wait. Above?

Both Kyle and I turned our gaze above the trees.

Just then, a large net dropped from above, and caught us inside. We tried to wriggle ourselves free but we could barely move with the net tangled on our wolves.

Then, I felt a stinging pain at the side of my body. I reached for it with my hand, and the last thing I saw was a syringe before everything went black.

When I slowly opened my eyes, the first thing I saw was a filthy tray with a bunch of surgical instruments like forceps, syringes, clamps, drills and bottles of chemicals.

My heart quickly raced inside my chest. I noticed I was already in my human form, wearing a hospital gown. I tried to sit up but I felt a sharp pain on my ankles and wrists, they were restrained to what looked like an operating bed!

I began to panic, and tried to wriggle myself free, but the handcuffs wouldn't even budge. I quickly turned to look around the room, and noticed it was dimly lit with only the surgical lighthead above me lighting the whole room.

When I turned my head to the other side, I found Kyle laying on another operating bed with his ankles and wrists handcuffed like mine. He wasn't moving, and I thought he might still be unconscious from whatever drug our captor might have injected to us.

I decided to call out to him in a controlled voice, not wanting to get the attention of anyone who might just be guarding us from outside.

"Kyle! Wake up! Kyle! Come on, wake up!"

He didn't move. I raised my voice a little.

"Kyle! Kyle! Wake up! Please!"

Still, there were no movement coming from him. My heart raced faster in my chest. Oh my God. Is he dead!?

"Kyle! Open your goddamn eyes now! Don't you dare leave me here!"

He still wouldn't move.

"Kyle..." I started crying.

"B-Blair..."

I jerked at the sound of his voice.

"Kyle! Oh God, I thought you were-"

"Where are we?"

I sniffed. "I-I dunno."

"Are you crying?" He tried to reach for me, but noticed he was restrained. He wriggled his ankle and wrists. "Don't worry, Blair. I'll get us out of here."

We both turned to the door when it flew open. My heart faltered at the sight of Brandon entering the door. He's still alive!

I called out to him. "Dad!"

When he got beside me, he held my jaw tightly in his hand, and I winced in pain.

"You are a shame in our family! How dare you ran away from your obligation in the pack!?"

For a moment, I couldn't find a word.

"B-But, I came to save you, dad... I-"

"I can't believe Alpha Kris had to send you a threat just to make you go back! And, what's that I heard!? You mated with an Alpha in another pack!? What were you thinking, huh!?"
