Kyle's POV

I fired another two shots to the wolves approaching me. They went down as soon as the silver bullets penetrated their skin.

Bang! Bang!

On my peripheral vision I saw another wolf coming my way. I turned my back to face the wolf and pointed my gun at him. Slowly, I pulled the trigger.

Click!

Sh*t! I pulled it again.

Click!

I ran out of bullets!

I had no choice but to try to hold the wolf with my bare hands. I threw the gun on the ground just in time as the wolf jumped on me. I grabbed it in the neck. It tried to wriggle from my grasp but my fingers were deeply buried into its neck. After some time, a loud howl escaped its mouth as it inhaled its last breath.

Soon, three more wolves were ready to jump on me. The brown wolf managed to pin me on the ground while the other two black wolves used their mouths to grab my arms. I shouted in pain as their sharp teeth penetrated my skin to my flesh. My arms began to bleed. It almost felt like they're about to be torn off.

I closed my eyes to prepare for my impending doom.

And, as if on cue, memories of my childhood with this pack flooded my vision- I remembered my pack trainings, how hard I strived to be worthy of the position as Alpha of Silver Moon pack, all the things I did just to please my father, then there was Blair, and my mother... fighting against my attackers?

The image of my mother's wolf was very vivid in my eyes. She jumped on the wolf pinning me to the ground. For a moment, she disappeared from my sight but then she came back and attacked the other two wolves holding my arms. She tried to push them with all the power she could muster but her strength was nothing compared to theirs.

The black wolf with a white spotted ear freed my left arm and pinned her to ground, biting her neck. A loud howl escaped her mouth.

Her howl sounded frighteningly real. It woke me up from trance. I searched for her with my blurring vision. And there I saw her body helplessly pinned on the ground not far from me. She came back!

With all the force I could muster, I tried to wriggle my other arm free from the other black wolf.

"Get off me!!!"

Its bite tightened on my arm. I fought the urge to give up, and pulled my arm away from its mouth. It was bleeding profusely.

"Aaaaarrrrrggghhhh!!!", I shouted in pain as I pulled my arm. I don't care if it gets ripped off. All I know is that I have to save my mother.

When I finally freed my arm, I grabbed on the neck of the wolf pinning my mother down. But it was too strong for me as a human. It didn't even move a bit.

I panicked as I watched my mother gradually shifting back to her human. I can't help but wince at the sight of her tearing skin and breaking bones as the wolf continued to pin her down.

"Mother!", I shouted at her helplessly. Then, I turned to the wolf again. "Get off her! Let her go!"

After a moment, my mother was already in her human form, naked on the ground. Her whole body covered in blood.

"K-Kyle! Be... hind you!" she shouted between heavy breaths.

I felt a sudden, stinging pain at the back of my head before everything went pitch black. Mother...

Slowly, I began to open my eyes. But I was greeted by nothing but darkness. I extended my arms to try to feel my surroundings. Cautiously, I stood up and with small steps I searched the room for anything that would give me an idea where I was or at least something I could make use of. I winced as the pain on my arms began to worsen. Even without seeing it, I knew it was still bleeding profusely. If I don't find something to prevent the bleeding, I would definitely die.
