Kara pushed open the door of the family car, stretching every muscle in her body as she stumbled out, her body aching after the who knows how long car journey. Her big sister Alex was grabbing bag after bag out of the boot, placing them gentley at Kara's feet with a sad smile spread across her face, Alex didn't know how she was going to cope not having her little sister around all the time to talk to about relationships and family drama. Eliza, Kara and Alex's mom, wrapped Kara's tired body into a tight, tight hug, pushing blonde curls out of Kara's face as she did so, Alex joined in the big family hug, breathing out loudly.
"Now behave yourself Kara, and remember to eat a balanced diet, don't go out partying every night, but also don't stay in your room all the time on your own, keep up with your studies, have a good time, call me if theres any problems." Eliza toned out in a huge godforsaken worried rant, that you would expect someone with empty nest syndrome to spout out. Kara laughed at her mother as she let her go from her embrace, Eliza always worried to much.
"I will mom, don't worry, I'll be fine I promise!" Kara said, smiling a big cheesy grin on her face, she was excited to start the next chapter of her life. The blonde turned to face her older sister, Kara could have sworn she saw tears beginning to well up in Alex's eyes, and that was a rare sight indeed.
"Phone me if theres any college boys you need me to beat up for you" Alex said sternly, wrapping Kara in another swift hug before squeezing her shoulders goodbye, she laughed again, Alex was always the over-protective type, she couldn't remember her any other way, that was just Alex.
"Who else would I phone?" Kara said through laughter, Alex smiled, ruffling Kara's blonde locks like she was a little kid again, she would always be the baby of the family. "Bye mom! bye Alex! I'm going to miss you guys so much, I'll call every night I promise!" Kara shouted and with that she picked up her load of bags and made her way towards the tall buildings of her new College campus, she wondered what her new roommate would be like, she only hoped that they would get along well.

Kara walked along the corridor, where her apartment was, she was looking for room '112' her heart was beginning to beat a little faster, getting more nervous by the second at who would be behind that apartment door, she had heard so many horror stories about nightmare roommates that don't clean up after themselves, or have to many house parties to be considered healthy. Kara stopped outside the door that was marked '112.' She had found it. her new home for the foreseeable future. She opened the door slowly, shuffling inside with her tonne of bags making it increasingly harder.
"Let me help you with those!" A kind, eager voice came from beside Kara and suddenly almost half of her luggage was lifted off of her own shoulders, she saw a tall brunette, walking towards what must have been Kara's bed and putting the bags down carefully below it, Kara followed swiftly copying the actions that the brunette took. "I guess I'm your new roommate!" the brunette said, her cheesy smile challenging even Kara's best efforts, which was hard to do, believe me.
"it sure looks like it" Kara said chuckling, fixing her glasses slightly she wasn't the best at meeting new people she never knew how to act or what to say next, luckily for her, her roommate seemed to have that whole situation covered.
"Im Diana Prince" The brunette said holding out her hand for Kara to shake, she took it gladly.
"I'm Kara Danvers, nice to meet you!" Kara said, shaking the brunettes hand as a friendly gesture.
"Nice to meet you to!" Diana replied letting go of the blondes hand as soon as it felt natural to do so. "So I was about to make a hot chocolate, do you want one?" Diana asked, walking over to the tiny kitchen in the corner of the room, Kara nodded enthusiastically, boy did she love hot chocolate, or anything that involved the word chocolate for that matter, Diana laughed heatedly, as Kara began trying her best to unpack practically her entire life. "Hey! so after this do you want to go and look around a little bit?" Diana asked causally popping her head around the kitchen counter, Kara hummed in agreement and with that Diana went back to making her famous hot chocolate, Kara sighed heavily, a sigh of bliss, she couldn't believe she was in college already, she hoped it would be as brilliant as she imagined it to be.
