KARA! Lena shouted, as she looked up at the blonde who had just hurled herself into a pile of well stacked notes, sending them tumbling towards the ground and not even the supers ref;exes could catch them in time. Lena groaned rubbing her head in her hands, Kara grimaced slightly remembering to kill Alex later for doing this to her, if things weren't bad enough between her and Lena, now she had even more cause to hate her guts. The brunette scuttled over to the pile of papers splayed all over the hard floor, whispering harsh comments under her breath and even Kara was to scared to listen in with her super hearing.
Kara kneeled down on the floor beside the brunette as she started to help gather the papers into a more well organised pile, but that just seemed to anger Lena further as her piercing emerald eyes almost burned through Kara's own gentle blue ones.
"Just leave it!" Lena spat, pushing Kara away with her hands, and grabbing the few bits of paper that Kara held away from her grasp. "You've done enough damage already." Lena said simply, her lip curling slightly in anger, something that Kara had only seen once, maybe twice before, and lets just say it didn't end well for the other guy. Kara stood up as she wander over to the work bench Lena was sitting at a few moments before Kara had arrived guessing it was best to just leave her to it.
Lena stood up not long after carrying the papers that could have easily weighed more than her over to a safer location in the lab, glaring in Kara's direction the entire time. But with those reading glasses on, Kara was finding it very hard to find Lena's angry glare anything more than cute, and maybe only slightly intimidating.
"What do you want Kara?" Lena asked with a sigh after putting the papers down gently, not moving any closer to the blonde so they were now effectively at opposite end of the lab. Lena crossed her arms, her eyebrow raising slightly. Kara cleared her throat, truth be told she didn't really know why she was there, it was after all Alex that had pushed her into the lab before she had time to protest. Lena rolled her eyes as she saw Kara tripping over her words in her mind, fiddling with the bottom of her top in nervousness.
Lena walked over to the work bench that Kara was standing beside uneasily. Lena sat down throwing a hand through her long raven hair carelessly as she went back to her work, knowing that Kara was going to be a while and at this point there was no reason to rush the blonde. Kara spun round to look at the brunette hard at work, she breathed heavily, how could someone look so carelessly hot. Lena didn't even try to look like a masterpiece it was all just natural.
"I missed you" Kara's voice cracked half way through her sentence, and her heart was beating out of her chest but at least at long last she had managed to say something. Lena looked up at the blonde, a sad look in her eye, like they had already been over this millions of times before. Lena took her glasses off slowly, her emerald eyes becoming more beautiful in the light now reflected in them.
"Kara we've been over this-" Lena began in a sad voice, smaller than even Kara's.
"no not like that- well... I -I- I just missed you, hanging out with you, the den isn't the same without you, even Diana agrees with me. Can we, can we please just go back to the way things were before anything weird happened." Kara pleaded, her voice however was not as convincing as she would have liked but she sure as hell didn't miss the small smile that she seemed to bring to Lena's ruby red lips.
"That's all I ever wanted." Lena said, her smile becoming more and more obvious now. Kara nodded, although her heart plummeted in her chest, she wished that her and Lena could be more than just friends. more than anything. But it wasn't meant to be. The two women sat in silence for what seemed forever, but neither of them wanted it to stop, just enjoying each others presence was enough without words.
Suddenly Diana burst into the room, the last of what looked like the principles signature chocolate cake spread over her face, Diana stuttered slightly noticing that Lena and Kara were having some sort of moment.
"Armed robbery at national city bank and at CatCo!" Diana shouted, deciding that the moment would have to wait till a more convenient time. Kara jumped to her feet. "Kara you take CatCo I'll go to the bank!" Diana called as she started to walk out of the lab, Kara following close behind her.
"I'll work surveillance from the den!" Lena called, making both women stop in their tracks, none of them expecting this.
"Good to have you back Luthor!" Diana called, nodding her head slightly before continuing out of the lab. Kara flashed Lena a small smile, which the brunette of course returned before practically skipping out of the lab. Lena breathed heavily as she opened the secret compartment hidden away at the back of the lab and stepping into the small room, she walked over to the monitors sitting down in front of them. God it felt good to be back.
