Word spread about the break in at the police department like wild fire, and it wasn't long until everyone on campus was talking about it. Which of course meant that Lena had been kept busy trying to mask her and Alex's every step that night, essentially taking them off the grid, before even attempting to start anything new with the bar code. She didn't want to risk doing anything which could reveal their location to the police, which was something an impatient Alex was having difficulty understanding. She wanted to find Kara as soon as possible, every day she was growing more and more worried that they would never find her sister, or when they do she wouldn't be the same Kara. Alex and Lena never even knew who kidnapped Kara in the first place never mind what they would and are doing to her.

Alex paced around the lab tapping her foot against the cold tiles which was beginning to distract Lena slightly from examining the bar code system closer to see if there was any type of security measure imprinted on it, so far so good, it looked to be completely clean.

Suddenly there was a knock at the lab door, making Alex stop in her pacing tracks, finally bringing a much needed and awaited silence to the room. Lena almost dropped the bar code files in fright, scared that she hadn't been as clever as she thought when masking the bar codes location. Alex walked slowly towards the door, trying to talk herself into believing that it would just be one of Lena's nerdy friends asking to borrow something to do with science. Lena could barley breathe, her heart almost stopped as it skipped beat after beat as she watched Alex's hands reach out to the handle on the lab door and swing it open. Lena wasn't ready to go to prison for a felony she was pushed into committing. She was to pretty, young, and innocent for prison. Alex on the other hand, Alex could handle herself, and she knew it.

Alex stumbled back as she felt like the air was stolen from her lungs, the detective that she had kissed during the heist as a simple distraction was leaning in the lab doorway, a pointed look on her face when she saw Alex's obvious surprise. The detectives long, black hair, glinted in the small lights coming from inside the lab, making it sparkle like moon dust. Alex mentally gave her own body a harsh shake, telling herself to pull herself together, and that the fact this detective was here may be the end of her and Lena's rescue mission before it had even started. Alex decided to play  it dumb and innocent.

"Detective what are you doing here?" Alex asked, crossing her arms over her chest, feeling her heart rattle against her rib cage as she did so. The detectives eyes narrowed as she pushed her way past Alex and into the lab, and the panic in Lena's face at this point was enough to confirm the detectives suspicions about the two women. The Luthor never had developed a good poker face.

"Don't play dumb, you know why I'm here." The detective said smoothly as she marched up to Lena, who quickly slid the bar code underneath her own notes on the science project she was currently working on for class.

"Maybe you can explain it to me?" Alex said shrugging, her voice higher pitched than usual as she put on her best butter wouldn't melt face, hoping that would be enough to fool the detective into believing her lies, Alex better think of a cover story fast.

"You and your apprentice here stole the bar code from lock up, which I'll have you know is a federal offence." The detective said, with a confident glint in her eye, staring straight at Alex as if challenging her, to prove her wrong. But at this point Alex couldn't stop thinking about the detectives soft kissable lips that she was dying to kiss for a second time, the thought had become like an addiction for Alex.

"Apprentice? I'm not her apprentice!" Lena piped up, "Yes okay it may have been her idea but without me it never would have happened." Lena argued again, making the detective smile smugly and raise her eyebrow, she had won.

"Lena, are you being serious right now? You just admitted to the police that we are criminals, I thought you were meant to be smart?!" Alex growled, Lena's mouth faulted as she realised what she had just done, why did her inferiority complex  have to bite back in that moment?

"Hand it over!" The detective ordered pointing to the bar code that she had spotted underneath the rest of Lena's science notes. Alex knew that she had two options, one go on the run from the authorities and the hot, confusing detective for the rest of her life. Or beg and convince the detective that it was their only option, which it was. She decided on the latter.

"Please detective, I need it to save my sister! Please! She was kidnapped and this is the only way we will know who took her, please trust me! I would never have been so stupid if it wasn't for something so important!" Alex begged, reaching out to grab the detectives hand, which she pulled away swiftly, a soft look taking over her face.

"On one condition." The detective replied, her voice quiet like she was scared of being overheard.

"Anything." Alex replied a hopeful look in her eye.

"You let me help you."
