Kara didn't feel in the mood to go out crime fighting with Diana that night, instead she sat in front of her laptop watching one of her all time favourite films, Dirty Dancing. She moped about the dorm room not really knowing what to do with herself, and she couldn't even get drunk because of her new metabolism which was both a gift and a curse. Lena's heartless words still beating around her head and body, Kara didn't believe her for a second, after all whats that thing that her sister always said, 'drunk actions are sober thoughts.' Which meant even if Lena was drunk like she claimed, then something deep inside her wanted to kiss Kara.
Without a further thought on the matter, Kara stormed out of the dorm room, she wasn't going to let Lena brush her off quite so easily. After all what kind of Superhero doesn't put up a fight, and in all the movies the hero always gets the girl. The blonde had to old back the urge to use her super speed as she came closer and closer to Lena's dorm room. Kara reached up with a shaking hand and knocked on the door, she didn't think she would have been this nervous, but she didn't know if she could handle being rejected for a second time.
Lena opened the door with a yawn, as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, a confused look on her face when she noticed it was Kara on the other side of the door. She was wearing the most adorable polka dot, fluffy, pyjamas and Kara wished she cold just snuggle into the warmth radiating from the other woman's body.
"I know you were lying." Kara blurted out, turns out she didn't need alcohol to make a mess of this situation after all. Lena cleared her throat, her eyes narrowing at the blonde slightly, before softening almost straight away, and Kara thought that maybe for a second Lena would admit to her, and herself that she was madly in love with the blonde, but this wasn't a Disney princess fairy tale, sadly. "I just want you to admit that you feel something for me, please" Kara almost pleaded, Lena still bearing a storey expression on her face. Lena reached out and put her hands on Kara's shoulders, tilting her head to the side, that made Kara's heart melt.
"Kara look at me." Lena ordered in a soft, caring voice, the same voice she used when she found Kara having a panic attack, that was one of the first times they had talked, and Kara thought she was falling in love with her ever since that moment. Kara did what she was told, looking straight at the brunette in front of her.
"admit it" Kara's voice cracked, barley making any sound at all. Lena sighed heavily, her head still cocked to the side.
"Kara I don't feel anything romantic for you. I'm not lying okay?" Lena questioned, as if asking Kara if that was okay, Kara shrugged her shoulders, pushing Lena's hands away as she took a step back into the hallway. Lena almost looked hurt by this gesture. "I never want to loose you as a friend Kara, but that's all you will ever be to me." Lena said again, trying to soften the obvious blow to Kara, but if anything that just made it worse. "Can we be friends again?" Lena asked, her big doe eyes glowing into Kara's full of hope.
"Sure. I'll see you around I guess." Kara muttered as she walked away from the dorm room ignoring Lena's shouts for her to come back, that she wasn't finished talking, but Kara certainly was, her heart still felt like it was broken into millions of tiny little pieces.

It had been two weeks since that night, Kara had only seen glimpses of Lena in the hallways, they hadn't talked since, most likely because Kara was doing her upmost to ignore the brunette, and ran away from her whenever she had to. She couldn't face her. She didn't want to.
"Is your family coming to the showcase today?" Diana asked, finishing up her mascara as she did so, today was the day of the college show case where all the ground breaking work the students had done throughout the year was on full display, and of course family was welcome.
"Yeah my sister and my mom said they were coming" Kara remarked, she hadn't seen wither of them since starting college it would be great to finally catch up with them both face to face.

During the showcase Kara had shown Alex, and Eliza everything there was to see, from the incredible art work, to the latest science experiments. They had decided to go out to dinner in a sweet looking restaurant not at all far from the college, all so they could quiz each other on relationships, something all three of the women loved to do.
Kara looked across the room just as she and her family were about to leave for their reservation at the restaurant. She saw Lena sitting on her own next to what Kara assumed was her own science experiment, a sad expression on her face, Kara's heart pained, seeing Lena like that.
"Just give me one second" Kara said to Alex and Eliza before walking briskly over to Lena, who's sad expression had turned into a glare when she noticed the blonde approaching. "Hey Lena are you okay?" Kara asked genuinely, Lena scoffed as she stood up, and stormed away from the blonde who had to jog to keep up with the brunette. "You know if your family couldn't make it you can come out to dinner with mine." Kara said smiling as the brunette stopped in her tracks, whipping her body round to face Kara, arms crossed and a scowl on her beautiful face.
"Now you care?" Lena shouted, "You haven't talked, or even looked in my direction in weeks!" She screamed, pointing her finger angrily in the direction of Kara, "And what now you invite me out with your family like everything's fine!" Kara opened her mouth, but Lena cut her off before she had the chance to say anything. "Im not a charity case to make you feel better! Either cut me out your life completely or at least try to be my friend, either way I don'r care!" Lena shouted, her voice cracking slightly before storming through the crowd, Kara didn't follow her this time.
"Kara are you ready?" Alex's voice came from behind her, Kara nodded a fake smile pasted on her face, as she followed Alex out of the main hall.
