Reborn

Kara gasped for air, as her eyes shot open the last thing she could remember was bringing her new found friends into the safety of Lena's lab, she must have fallen unconscious. She looked around to see that Lena herself had ran to her bedside as soon as she realised Kara was awake, with chart after chart clasped tightly in her hands. Harleen, Natasha and Diana were already awake, all sat round one of Lena's work benches, she must have been explaining what had happened to them. Lena helped the blonde over to the bench in question, where everyone else was waiting patiently. 

"I have been monitoring you all for the past week while you slept." Lena paused, and Kara couldn't believe her ears, a week? she had lost a whole week! "My tests have shown a considerable change in each and every one of your DNA, like radiation" Lena put her charts on the table for the others to see, which never really made a difference to their understanding, those graphs were impossible to read. "Harleen, this radiation has messed with your brain chemistry, meaning you will most likely suffer from erratic behaviour" Lena explained, while looking at her study of the blonde who seemed at best to be completely disconnected from the conversation, almost as if she didn't care. "Natasha, for you the radiation has made you super human, making you stronger, you'll have faster reflexes, basically everything is enhanced." Lena said, not taking her eyes of the chart, Natasha nodded slowly taking everything in but unable to say a word. "Diana, Kara you two have suffered more drastic changes" Lena said warily, wincing slightly at her findings. 

"What does that mean?" Diana asked, she was shaking slightly never would she have guessed that one orienteering expedition would have lead to this and as for Kara she didn't know if she was more blown away by what had happened to them or by how hot Lena looked in full on crazy scientist mode, ugh stop it Kara, you like men, M, E, N!  The blonde thought to herself. Lena's cheeks glowed a light pink as she noticed that Kara hadn't taken her eyes of her since waking up, she hoped she didn't have something on her face, god that would be embarrassing. 

"I will have to run more tests but so far all my findings say that you, Diana, have Superhuman strength, speed, along with the power to heal faster than humans and you should be able to fly" Lena finished looking up to clock Diana's reaction, she looked like she was about to be sick, Diana had never told anyone this before but she was absolutely terrified of heights. "And Kara as for you posses vast superhuman speed, strength and stamina; invulnerability; flight; super breath; x-ray vision; telescopic and microscopic vision; freeze breath; heat vision; and super hearing." Lena spieled off all in one breath, Kara's jaw dropped to the floor although that did explain why she could see through Diana earlier, so theres that. Kara looked up at Lena and to her surprise she could see right through her, the blonde covered her eyes with her hands, squealing as her face turned bright red. 

"Im so sorry, I um, didn't um-" Kara began, how was she meant to explain that she may or may not have just seen Lena's naked body, with the sound of Diana's chuckling from beside her, that squeal and now the colour of her face was doing all the talking for her. Lena smiled, stifling the laugh that she so wanted to voice, instead she went for the friendly scientist option, this time. 

  "This should help with containing all your different type's of sight" Lena said handing Kara a pair of glasses, the blonde furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, how was a pair of glasses going to help with not seeing naked people? "They are lined with lead and if the radiation you are giving off is anything to go by then lead will block your powers" Lena explained, Kara shrugged as she slipped them on, she breathed a sigh of relief when she glanced up at Lena again and saw  a fully clothed normal image, she may have been slightly disappointed however. God, Kara you are so creepy today. "In the mean time all four of you should try to keep your heads down, don't draw attention to yourselves we still have no idea how that rock got there, or of someone put it there on purpose, so for your own safety don't do anything stupid, and by stupid I mean alien" Lena said rubbing her brow, she must have been tired. 

"Are we going to be like this forever?" Natasha asked shakily, she had already broken a chair after waking up in frustration, she thought she would be living like a normal student not like some superhuman untrained assassin. The other girls looked at Lena eagerly awaiting her answer, she sighed heavily, picking all her charts back up off the work bench. 

"I have no idea as soon as I know more I'll come and find you, but It would be helpful if you would all come for weekly testing so I can see how the radiation functions within your bodies" Lena said, she didn't want to say hat she was inevitably thinking, usually this amount of radiation would cause instant death, this was what they call a scientific mystery, there was now such a thing as Gods on earth. "You are all free to go, just be... Human" Lena warned, as Harleen, Natasha and Diana filed out of the lab leaving only Kara at the table. "You to Kara" Lena said, clearing her desk so she could actually work on her assignment that was due in tomorrow.   

"I just wanted to say thank you for doing this for us, you didn't have to" Kara said shyly, Lena smiled as she took her glasses off twirling them in between her fingers, as she ran her hand through her raven hair. 

"I was never going to turn you away, but if you want me to continue helping you, you have to promise to not put yourself in danger, I don't know enough yet to know what exactly is going to hurt you." Lena said sternly as she walked Kara towards the exit of the lab, Kara nodded. 

"I promise" She said as she walked out of the lab leaving Lena to her own devices, for some reason Lena didn't quite believe the blonde, it seemed she had a way of getting herself into trouble.
