I swung the door open and sure enough Jack was waiting with Chica on the steps, his face lit up when he saw me and stood up almost instantly when our eyes met.
"Hey!"
"Hey...." Jack's face instantly falling, he rushed over to me, one hand pressed on my chest and the other cupping my face. His expression filled with worry.
"Where have you been? Are you okay?"
"Yeah I just, need you to go to Felix's a bit alright?"
"Oh...Okay.." Jack forcing a smile, he grabbed the home phone and dialled in Felix's number, almost instantly getting a reply.
Hearing them chatting but not understanding what they were saying, I waited until I heard Jack say the word goodbye and the sound of the phone being put down until I looked over at him.
"I can go now if you want."
"Alright. I'm sorry Jack."
"Mark, you don't have to be, I get it you need your space. I'm here for you." Jack smiling at me, he slipped his shoes on, gave Chica a quick pat and then walked out the door. Silence filled the room, and it just made the despair that much more unbearable.
Eyeing the door debating whether or not to change my mind and race after him, chills ran down my neck warning me but I didn't listen. Ignoring the feeling at the back of my mind, I sulked to my bed and slumped down.
The curtains already closed and the room dark, I shut my eyes and let myself sink away into sleep. The blankets keeping me in their arms and rocking me to sleep.
I just need some time to process everything....

Shoes clicked on the pavement as people passed by, some eyed my hair, others said hello and shot me smiles. Everyone having a different reaction to me. A couple people looked at me wide eyed, shooing their children away from me.
It stung, but...I pushed it away.
A sigh escaping my lips, I flipped out a phone that Mark had let me borrow, he said it was an old one he never managed to get rid of, and I opened it, going onto the phone button and deciding to call Felix.
It rang a couple times, and then he didn't pick up....
My face scrunching up for a split second, glowering, I tried focusing on something else and looked upwards toward the sky where the clouds were still so white, the sky so blue and yet everything feels so...off...
I can't describe it as anything else really.
A puff of breath escaping my lips irritated, my eyes caught sight of the spot I fought with Mark at the party. Flinching, images flashed in my mind of his expression and what he said. It caused me to curdle inwards, my stomach heavy.
It's over and done with he's apologised...We spoke about it the deeds were done, mistakes were made it's gone..
'Then why does it hurt so much...'
'Sometimes people can't control what they do, Jack.'
'But Mark seemed different than that.'
'He was drunk, it wasn't his fault.'
'Yeah...Just like it wasn't Ma's fault either, right?...'
'.........'
'...yeah, I thought so.'
'Jack, that was so long ago...'
'And yet you're still here?'
'You know I'm not really here...'
'Right, cause I'm insane.'
'You aren't.'
'Sam..... Don't.'
'You're sane Jack.'
'..... I don't believe that anymore...'
