======================================================

--= Mark's + POV =--

The look that shined inside his eyes were so rigid I couldn't understand what they were showing me. My mind was messed up screaming thoughts and questions and answers. All wanting to be spoken or solved. All wanting to disappear so the next one could come along this one taking so long to solve I wouldn't have even remembered Jack was there.

The fact jolted through me, as if ice had stabbed it's way into my skin and flowed inside my blood stream melting from the heat of the temperature. The longer I stared the more Jack's tiny body shook in complete unreadable madness. His whole body was shaking so wildly it looked as if he were being electrocuted.

Instinctively raising a hand to reach out for him, Jack saw the movement quite clearly and threw himself backwards just out of my reach. And yet when he did I swear I saw those completely green eyes of his glow.

"D-D-Don't..........Don't touch me!" Jack screamed. The colour of his eyes shrank a bit so I could see a small rim of white around his eye, but it quickly vanished when a laugh blurted from his lips and his hands slapped against them struggling to block the sound. Kneeling over the mess of himself, Jack's breaths rang heavily in the room and I managed to try again.

My fingers twitching the closer they went towards Jack, a thought of running away popped into my mind. The offer sounding tempting, I scorned myself on the inside and continued until it gently floated onto his shoulder where it stayed. Jack didn't move. He didn't react or even flinch. He just sat there his upper half kneeling over his lower half that was crossed a top one another.

"Jack...." He stopped halfway through his breath, it froze and caught inside the middle of his throat as soon as I had spoken his name. He peeked up through the curled up ball he was in, and through those radioactive coloured eyes I saw pure desperation and madness pounding through every single ounce of them.

They too, were shaking. It was hard to see it properly, but before I could even have noticed two strands of tears had fallen out of them and began to dance down his face. Hearing the sound of my own heart curling up and breaking itself along the way, snapping it's own muscles and veins of it's own.

I flinched to gaze upon the sight of Jack, and spoke the first question that needed to be addressed.

"What do you mean you're going to die?"

--= Jack's + POV =--

Mark sounded just as broken. Just as afraid as I was. My body felt like it was on fire. It burned. I wanted it to stop. Tears rattled down my face and finding no use in hiding them, I let them flow down with ease as my eyes gently closed. A breath continuing it's way in, I focused on my ribs moving up and down, working in sync, working the way it should.

My body was not the problem. I had no health diseases or rare conditions which end up in me having a deadline, I just know that soon, though it isn't a reasonable word to use, is when I shall be ended. I feel it. I know it with every ounce of my temporary living body that my time is in fact coming closer.

The flip side has been calling my name, and I can see it clearer than day than I ever have before. I owe it to Mark. He has done so much, and I for him, so little. Goosebumps huddled close to me and pricked at my skin. Everywhere I could see was faded and in a shade of green. The only image which was clear was the fearful expression Mark was wearing as he looked at me.
