Chapter 12

Maybe Maria forgot something. or is taking up my request.

I went and opened the door expectantly, wearing nothing but my boxers and a smug smile.

"Coming back for mo-o...." I questioned the last word stuck in my throat as I stood dead in my tracks

The face that greeted me was one unexpected but quite welcomed.

Standing there, staring me dead in the eye was a cute petite dark haired police woman. She soon enough alerted me of the nature of her visit and asked me to keep the noise level down.

I'm guessing Maria and I were noisier than I realized.

I assured her it was all over and that it wouldn't happen again.

She turned to walk away giving me a wonderful view but stopped and turned.

"Oh and son, for God's sake put on some clothes, you have a visitor" She pleaded

I walked down the steps and felt the chill of the nights breeze thrust against my skin.

I looked up the lane to see a 5 ft. auburn-haired ,green eyed, Allison.

My ex

It couldn't be!

What was she doing back here?

I haven't seen her in two years

She was THE EX!!

Allison packed it all up and left 2 years ago when she got a swimming scholarship at Marlin's Academy which was over 2000 miles away. I was the only thing holding her back and that is why I had to set her free. Despite the void that I knew would be here in my heart, leaving it empty for days, weeks months. I just had to.

It took me an entire year to get over her.

And it was hella hard

And after that I closed off myself completely to the world of love

" Are you just going to stand there dumbstruck or are you going to come and properly greet me?" she questioned

I stepped forward but she stopped me

"UH- no, we're not like that anymore, put on some clothes" She requested

I stepped back and went into the house straight to the laundry room to grab sweatpants.

She followed me in and gave me a hug once partially dressed.

I held her there and felt the memories rushing back and slowly let her go, unwilling to fall back into those feelings

" SO.......Who's that hottie that I saw blazing down the street"

"That's... Wait!"

"What are you doing here?"

"My parents are in town for the week so I thought I'd drop by and see how you're doing but I see you're doing just fine " she added as she whirled a lavender lace bra with a black trim.

" Gimme that" I demanded as I took possession of the bra.

She grinned a lil

"Good to see that you finally got out of your shell"

" I got out a long time ago, you made sure of that"

"Yea, that night" she spoke as though reflecting on the events of that summer night along Palmeron Beach

"That was a crazy night wasn't it?"

"It was indeed."

I walked to the fridge and grabbed two cokes, handing one to Alli as we walked over to the couch.

"So how's Marlin" I asked

"It's great actually, the scholarship ride ended last month but they've decided to take me on full time." She informed me

"That's great news"

"Yea it is"

The small talk and catching up continued until a sudden pause came in her speech.

Something was triggered by what I said.

"Look Jay, there's something I need to tell you"

"Sure, what is it?"

"I did........." she began

"We're home!" Exclaimed my mom as they all burst through the door.

"Look who we found at the mall" Dad said as he gestured to the Lockwoods standing in the doorway.

I got up and greeted them, shaking their hands but Mrs. Lockwood wouldn't have it and pulled me into a hug

"It's been so long Jay"

"We missed your bright smile and laughter around the block" she lamented

After putting down the bags, we all gathered in the living room after mom made some snacks and drinks

We sat there reminiscing on the past and the fun family events we had.

Soon enough time catch up and they had to leave.

I walked Allison to her parents's car and we exchanged numbers.....

Now back in my room I look at the mess and ran my hand over my face, thinking to myself:

What the heck am I doing?

I began cleaning the mess before one my parents came in.

I changed the sheets and cleaned up all the clothes from the floor, restoring the out of place furniture.

I went and took a shower when I heard my phone ringing .

By the time I got out, I missed the call.

I took up the phone and saw a message form Alli.

ALLI

" It was great seeing you today, I honestly missed that cute boyish smile you still have"

" I was happy to see you too, however unexpected it was"

"Yea, I know it's been a while"

"Two years to be exact"

" How about we catch up tomorrow, IK you'll have school for the rest of the week"

"Sure that'd be great"

" Guillermo's?

"Sounds good"

I wonder why Alli's in town? What made her return after 2 years? With this EX being in town, something is bound to happen, be revealed, destroyed, mended, altered, something must change!!
