Hey Athena
Hi Jay, Sup?
Just heading to the park, care to join?
" Sure" she replied
I've finally built up the courage to talk to the girl from the fountain and man is she amazing. She's everything I've ever dreamed of. She's smart, beautiful, caring and the list goes on and o...
Jayyyy!!!!!
Jaylan!!
I heard my mom's voice calling in the distance, waving her hands off to signal me.
"Go to her" Athena said.
"Okay" I replied hesitantly, dragging my feet as I went.
But, for some reason she kept on calling and calling although I was walking towards her.
It got louder and louder like the chimes of a church bell.
Then it hit me
CRAP!!!!
It was Monday morning, the first day of school after summer break.
I quickly jumped out of bed to find a frowning mother 'a-kimbo' if you may, ready to start scolding me for not getting up early. Luckily I realized this and apologized and told her I would be down soon. That seemed to hold her for a few minutes until we are in the car again where her constant ranting about time management will continue.
.
.
.
.
.
I've been dreaming of her again, the girl from the fountain. In each of my dreams she has a different name but still has the same killer smile, shoulder length brunette hair and those dreamy hazelnut orbs.
She's a freaking goddess.
But...... Ughhhhhh
I'll never see her again and that sucks, doesn't it?
With that thought another awful day had begun. I quickly showered, got dressed and rushed downstairs to eat. Luckily mother had already made breakfast, my absolute favorite.
PANCAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes!
At least something is going good in my day.
"Mmmmmmm! These are delicious mother," I added as i ate with gusto
"I know they are, I made them after all" she replied with that grin i knew all too well.
"Hurry and eat Jay we are going to be late, Emmette, Emmette, get back down here or else I'm going to leave you!" mother shouted, all in one breath.
Emmette rushed down the stairs dressed in his usual skinny jeans, converse and any T-Shirt he could find. He literally spends every waking hour of every day in that hair of his, doing what you may ask? Only God he knows. It still looks the same to me.
You see Emmette and I although brothers share only one thing, our blue eyes. That's it!
He has mom's dark hair and is rather skinny for a fourteen year old. I however, am medium built (Yea, I work out), have light brown hair and yea the winner...
I'm better looking or so I've heard. Plus I'm older so I get more privileges.
"Come on boys, time to go" mom shouted.
"Coming mom" we both answered in unison running to the front door as we do, and like all brother we argue over shotgun, however, I always win.
Five minutes into the journey, it's back to school as normal and six
Seven
Eight
Nine
Ten minutes in, as though the universe has no care for my thoughts or likes, it begins to rain. Like this day could get any worse. Oh, it just did. For the final five minutes of the journey I stare longingly out the window. Wondering. Thinking of what it would be like to be a tree, a shrub or even a honey bee, but, that's only a wish a crazy and unrealistic one at that.
We finally arrive at this grim existence of a school, The Noel Blackwood Memorial High located on 24 Abbernathy Drive. Just looking at it makes me want to hurl. I mean who in their right minds woke up one day and said
" I want to make a place to torture kids with a lot of work, stressful assignments and disgusting teachers"
Then the other dumbo joins in
" We can name it school"
Uggghh
THESE CRAZY ASS PEOPLE.
Well no sense sitting here moping. I grabbed my coat and rushed inside.
It was all as i remembered. The scent of fresh gardenia paint. The halls filled with kids, loudly chattering about their summer escapades. Some in the name of LOVE, some ATTENTION and others were just blending with the crowd. I, however, can't really agree because my summer ended on that bus, looking back at her, my multi-named, raven-haired beauty
And with that thought of her my day went from bad to worse to worser.
"Ehm ,Ehhmm," you know that there isn't such a word that little voice added.
"Of course I do" I replied.
It just best expresses my current feelings 'beyond existence'.
I reached my locker where I ran into my best friend, Demitri Petrova waiting nonchalantly as his eyes roamed, jumping from the mini skirts to short shorts and above the knee dresses, scanning the halls having his all time favorite smirk plastered across his face.
We greeted each other with our secret hand shake that was crafted since 6th grade. Demitri has been my best friend for a long time now, some even say that we look alike, but I do not share that notion. Maybe it's because they always see us together. The only slight similarity is that we both are brown-haired. His however is darker than mine. He is also green-eyed and taller than I am.
But
Despite the differences, he like a brother to me.
"Hey man, we've barely seen each other all summer" he mimed. Mockingly pulling off a puppy face before he breaks out into an infectious grin.
" I knew it, I knew you couldn't hold it" I retorted and joined in the laughter.
" I can h..."
He was suddenly interrupted mid statement by the bell signaling that it was class time, and five minutes later the final bell will ring to signify the starting of another miserable year. We exchange bro-hugs and I rush off hurriedly to Chemistry while he to woodwork.
And so the journey begins.
