Part B

Entering the lab brings back fun memories of all the solutions and salts made, jokes and insults delivered, mostly by our vibrant and charismatic teacher Ms. Wilson. An "uptown diva" as quoted by many that takes crap from no one. She is the best though.

Walking in I see a new girl in the class. She has her head down with her books pressed against her chest, with her thick-rimmed glasses and knitted sweater. It's obvious there's some beauty there she just opts to hide it.

Hmph.

Who am I to judge?

She makes it seems as though her entire world is in her feet because that's all she's looking at while walking to the back of the class.

There was a couple by the window, too busy smooching to take notice of all that's going on around them

There was a couple by the window, too busy smooching to take notice of all that's going on around them.

The typical emos in their cliques.

And weird enough

A group of basketball players and robotics nerds were engaged in a civilized convo.

No bullying.

No crying.

At least something has changed.

I averted my eyes and went to find my usual seat,  but before I was allowed the chance to sit I heard a loud thud as the new girl's books scatter across the concrete floor. I looked around and with no surprise no one was helping her so I took it upon myself to do so.

I rushed over and started assembling the books from the far right. I walked over to her, books in hand, examining them only to realize we did most of the same subjects.

" Here you dropped these too" I calmly stated, as i handed her the remaining books.

" Thank you, I... I'm such a mess. Thank you" she nervously thanked, while removing an imaginary stray strand of hair as she kept her eyes fixed on the ground

" It's no problem..."

That thought was halted as she lifted her head to meet my gaze and she did so ever so briskly altering the glasses on her face as she did so,seemingly gaining some confidence to look me in the face.  However,I in this moment, seemed to have been dumbstruck or tongue tied  because I couldn't get a single word out , so much as a letter.

I recognized those eyes.

HAZEL

Even hidden behind a thousand lenses, in the darkest room I still would.

I saw her.

 The real her.

I then looked up and like a neon sign at a drive thru was the obvious brunette hair. Why didn't I see this earlier?

" You're the girl from the...

Wait!

How's this possible... I was flustered

It's.. no that's impossible.

Hi there? I'm Jay. "

I finally got it out, even though it was all  in a muddled manner.

She opened her mouth to respond and in that moment my thoughts, my entire body, my nerve endings went haywire. I was finally getting her name. A name to match that recurring face from my dreams.

I wonder if it's Athena like the goddess

OR

Something weird like a grandmother's name, Hilda

Ughhh, I shuddered at the very thought.

But back to reality.

.

.

"I'm H..." she began

"Sit down everyone, it's class time, I said sit"

That was the only thing I heard afterwards blaring through the entire class. It was Ms. Wilson, making her rather unwelcome presence known once again and this time she was ruining my chance of finally knowing the name of my dream-haunter.

My heart quaked with grief, sadness, joy and anxiety all at once.

Happy that I saw her once again.

 Anxious to know more

And finally sad as I still haven't gotten her name.

I hurriedly took my seat and so does HHhh...

Oh wait, I don't know her name. H is all I got . Well for now she is H and that's good enough.

I think?

Maybe.

With only one letter, the eight letter in the alphabet, I began doodling, shutting out the outside world as we know it while I did so.

And

As usual.

Ms. Wilson kept on talking and talking. Hopefully nothing too important was said. Right now it was just me and my H.

Wait

What if it's Hydrogen?

Naaaa. I chuckled inwardly and settled with my H for now.
