((Song of the chapter: What The Hell by Avril Lavigne))

After practically sprinting to the bathroom I dialed Sydney's number. The phone rang five times before she finally answered.

"Dude what the hell have you been doing for the past hour this is important Addie!!" Sydney practically yelled through the phone.

"It's Sunday meaning brunch with the rents and g-rents. I called you now so whats up?"

"Wait you don't know?" Sydney questioned me like how was I supposed to know what she was calling me for?

"Um, no? I have absolutely no idea why you needed to call me so urgently."

"Well you clearly havent checked your phone at all have ya?"

"Nope parents were getting mad at Shane and I for not socializing." I wish she would just tell me already.

"Well honey you are in for a huge surprise check twitter asap rocky!" I quickly put Sydney on speaker phone and pulled up twitter. My notifications were crazy.. What the hell happened? I started scrolling though my mentions and found that they were a reply to a verified twitter user @ashton5sos and I honestly had no idea who he was.

"Who is this ashton guy?" I ask Sydney quickly.I got to his twitter page and quickly found that he's a drummer in some Australian band called 5 Seconds of Summer. Ok well cool some band dude with millions of followers tagged me a tweet.

"He's a really hot Australian drummer that's who!"

Then I scrolled through his tweets and noticed he tweeted my cover of "A thousand years" by Christina Perry with the caption 'Absolutely stunning vocals, check out @AddieGram <3". Aww he likes my vocals!

"He likes my vocals. He tweeted my cover. He got 50 thousand retweets and 70 thousand favorites and its only been an hour! WHAT EVEN IS HAPPENING?" I cant believe this wow.

"I don't know but girl check out how many followers you have now!!" I go to my twitter profile to find that I jumped from having a meer 3,500 followers to nearly 20,000 in a matter of an hour. This was so exciting! I was hoping that there would be some sort of sign as to if I should continue to pursue music and I'm pretty sure this is it.

Now tons of people have listened to music, and not on that but it seems like they actually like it!

"Girl you are going to be famous!" Sydney shouts through the phone.

"Haha I don't know about that, but this is pretty cool!" I decide to tweet this Ashton kid back 'Glad you liked it! Thanks for the little shout out(: xx '. "Syd I am actually in complete shock right now. A guy with 8 freaking million followers posted the video of me..... Me ..... I WHITE GIRL CANT EVEN!"

"Promise you won't forget me when your famous?"

"Of course!" Like I was actually going to become that famous. I mean sure a ton of people seemed to dig that tweet but maybe only because that Ashton guy tweeted it. "So uh what do I do now?"

"You celebrate!!! My house tonight?"

"Yes! Sounds perfect!" What could be better than celebrating with my best friend!?!? "We'll Syd I probably should get back to brunch... See ya tonight!"

"See you!" And with that I hung up and tried or recuperate myself. I started walking back to our table with the cheesiest grin plastered on my face. I honestly couldn't help it!

"Really Addie, you skipped 30 minutes of our family bonding to sit on your phone?" My mom spat.

"We'll actually I just found out something pretty awesome but if you don't care to hear about it it's whatever."

"What is it Addie?" Grandma always was curious about me and my aspirations. I love her for this.

"So you know how I post those videos of me singing on the internet?" My family nodded in synch. I was mainly directing this towards my very non tech savvy grandparents and father. "Well this pretty famous guy from a band called 5 Seconds of Summer posted a link to one of my covers on twitter and a ton of people watched it and liked or retweeted it!"

"Meaning..?" My grandpa questioned.

"Meaning a lot of people have now heard my work and like it!" My family awed. "Now I'm just hoping this is the start of my big break!" I immediately regretted letting those words exit my mouth as I saw my mom give my dad a look of not only doubt but denial. She didn't want my music career to take off, heck she didn't want it to even start.

Everyone was just sitting there in complete silence. My dad was on his blackberry, my mom looking off in the distance probably thinking about how mad she was, grandma and grandpa looking at their newspapers and Shane tapping the table.

"So the weather..." Shane was always there to break up the awkward silence and tension in our family.
