((Song of the Chapter: LA Devotee by Panic! At The Disco))
Luke and I, or rather Luke in disguise and I both sit patiently in the police station waiting for the detective to call us back. Luke is sporting a gray beanie, RayBans, denim jacket and black skinny jeans. Oh, and you can't forget the signature all black converse. It wasn't really a disguise but he convinced himself it was. Calum was meeting us at the station after a meeting.
I'm feeling a little nervous. I am unsure as to what kind of questions the detective will ask, or rather how much he/she will want to know. Will they ask me to tell them about the past? I sure hope not. I really don't want to have to tell a complete stranger about that stuff..
"You okay?" Luke asks while placing a hand on my knee.
"I guess."
"So I take that as a no?"
I shrug my shoulders. I think we both know that I am definitely not okay after what happened. Luke wraps his arm around me and pulls me into his chest. I absolutely love when he does this. I feel so safe wrapped in his arms. The smell of fresh pine and something else boyish fills my nostrils as I lay my head against his chest. Luke strokes my back and we simply sit, waiting.
"Miss Addison Gram?" A man in dress clothes calls from a door around 15 minutes later. Luke and I stand up and approach the man. He was tall, bulk, and intimidating. "You must be Addison?" He questions towards me.
"Yes," I simply state.
"Detective Adams," he sticks his hand out for me to shake which I do, "Shall we head back? Oh, Mr. Hemmings I'll need you to stay out here until we are finished." Detective Adams opens the door and starts to walk in.
I look at Luke feeling more scared than ever. "You'll be fine sweetheart, I'll be right here waiting for you," Luke pulls me into a hug and kisses my forehead, "Just tell them the truth." I look at him in the eyes and nod. Luke gives me one last reassuring smile before I follow Detective Adams back.
We walk back to a small room with a table and two chairs. "Take a seat Addison, and we can get started."
~~~ (a/n y'all already know what happened so I'm not about to repeat the story) ~~~
"And you said he is now being held in custody?" I ask Detective Adams.
"Yes. We will be questioning him soon as well."
"Okay," I say in a small voice."
"I know you were scared to tell me about what has happened between you two in the past today, but Addison if you want to see that man behind bars for longer it will be necessary that you do tell us details," I nod my head understandingly, "I think this is enough for today. Mr. Hood should be here soon." We stand up and Detective Adams leads me back out to the waiting room area.
"Thanks," I shyly say to him.
"No problem. We will keep in touch for more questioning and information." With that, he hands me his card and I make my way to the chairs. I find the beanied boy, eyes glued to his phone. He must have heard me and looks up with a soft tired smile. He stands up.
"Hi, love," Luke quietly says before grabbing my hand.
"Hi."
"How'd it go?"
"Fine."
"Don't want to talk about it?"
"No, I don't mind. I just told him exactly what happened that night."
"Hmm," Luke takes a deep breath nodding towards the door, "Shall we?"
"We shall." Luke and I walk out of the station. A black car pulls up on the curb and Luke goes to open up the door for me. I slide in the back, Luke follows.
