Chapter 20

A.N. Was in a writing mood today :)

The game began, we were on the blue team. It consisted of me, Yuri, and 8 others. It was capture the flag and we had formulated a plan that there would be three attacking teams searching for the other teams flag - me and Yuri were gone of these teams - and the rest would defend our flag.

I look over to Yuri as we run through the woodland, his eyes fixed ahead of him and have a fire in them, they are full of life. We continue onwards dodging trees and bushes as we go until we come across some people, I instantly pull Yuri to the ground with me to hide behind a bush, hoping they haven't seen or heard us. He's breathing heavily, as am I. I move my hand to his knee and rub it gently with my thumb to grab his attention, he looks me in the eye and I signal for us to move slowly forwards. He goes first continuing to hide behind bushes as he goes and I follow silently behind him.

All of a sudden I hear a loud snap in front of me and Yuri freezes, he must have stepped on a twig or something. A loud yell comes from about 15 meters away. "I know someone's there, come out with your hands up!"

Yuri begins to rise but I quickly pull him down before he can be seen, "I'll go, you figure a way around this" I whisper in his ear then stand up before he can protest and move towards the person now pointing a gun at me.

Out if the corner of my eye I see Yuri shuffle, and try to keep a straight face as he trips and ends up face first in a pile of leaves. Thankfully the member of the other team was too focused on me to notice.

"Where is your teams flag?" He demands, the gun aimed at my chest. I stay silent...

"Tell me or ill shoot you right now." Again I don't reply...

A gun shot goes off. I close my eyes and await the impact, but it never comes. Instead I hear the guy in front of me give off an angry moan signifying that it was infact him that got shot and grumbling he starts to leave for the exit. His teammate a few yards back then quickly lifts her gun up in preparation to shoot me but too late - I pulled the trigger and the paint splatted against her front.

Yuri then reveals himself, standing up tall with his gun slung over his shoulder looking awfully proud of himself.

The woman who I had shot then says "Good game." Smiles politely at us and runs after the man who was already making his way to the exit.

I then run up to Yuri, engulf him in my arms and lift him up slightly in the process. His face turns a deep shade of red and I kiss him on the cheek.

"My saviour," I say dramatically, pretending to feint in his arms, he catches me and sniggers.

We continue our search of the forest, coming across a few more people but nothing we can't handle, splattering them all with paint one by one. And finally I spot a red blob in the distance, surrounding it are three members of the other team. Me and Yuri decide a stealth attack is probably the most likely to work so slowly work our way forwards, hiding behind anything the surrounding area will give us.

As we near the flag I tell Yuri to go on ahead and that I will cover him. Eventually the cover of the forest runs out and suddenly he rushes out of the bushes and heads straight for the flag. I see the opposing team trying to fire at him but missing, I set myself up quickly and begin to fire. The first one hits a lady right in the back, and the second hitting a man right in the stomach.

Yuri continues his charge, grabbing the flag, pulling it from the post and running with it back towards me. The last person on the opposing team continues to fire but Yuri swiftly doges all of them. My attempts to fire back at him are also unsuccessful so as the raven haired boy runs past me I get up and run behind him, my body shielding him from any potential shots that might hit him, firing over my shoulder as I scramble to keep up with him.

By this point we are halfway back to our own base, the last guy is still pursuing us and Yuri is still going strong. However I'm starting to tire and slow down a little, the gap between me and Yuri getting bigger with every stride.

When I can go no further I spin on my heels, stopping and hold the my gun up to my eye firing behind me at the guy still in pursuit. He rushes behind a tree and I stand there waiting.

I'll either shoot him when he comes out and Yuri will get back and win, or he won't come out and Yuri will win anyway.

Slowly the guy comes out from behind the tree with his hands above his head. "Fine you win" He says with a sincere smile on his face.

I still keep my gun aimed at his chest and watch as he comes closer, "One more step and I'll shoot." I say. But he continues to move towards me - I pull the trigger...

But nothing happens. Oh crap I must be out of amo...

The guy standing in front of me then smirks and pulls his gun up in front of him aiming at my chest, and is about to fire when a loud bell goes off, signalling the end of the game.

When I step back into the building I hand all my gear back and I see Yuri standing at the other side of the room with a huge smile plastered on his face. I walk over to him along with the guy who had been chasing us.

"You were AMAZING!" I almost shout, squeezing him in my arms. When I release him I gesture to the guy standing behind me and say "Yuri I'd like you to meet Phichit Chulanont..."

A.N. Just had to have Phichit in it ;)
