Chapter 13 (Nekoma)

It was already the last day of the training camp and the team was now on its way towards the gym where they were going to play against Nekoma. The night before you had to deal with some members being too loud and excited for the match that they couldn't go to sleep. 

You sat down next to Shimizu, as you started to doze off. Well, you got up a lot earlier than usual, plus you were occupied sending your friends to bed last night. After a while, you finally closed your eyes and leaned a little on Shimizu's shoulders startling her. Although, she didn't mind you and smiled.

You were almost at your destination when Nishinoya and Tanaka, who were sitting on the seats behind you, noticed you and Shimizu too silent. They leaned over and saw your sleeping faces as your head rested a bit on the other manager shoulder while her head rested on top of yours. Shimizu also had her eyes closed, although she didn't feel sleepy. 

"Thanks god, for I've been blessed with this beautiful scenery" Tanaka squealed, hugging himself as he exaggerated. Meanwhile, Nishinoya was furiously blushing and fidgety.

"Guys, we've arrived!" Ukai yelled as the others started to head out of the bus. You slowly got up and Shimizu sent you a glance and smiled at your drowsy face. She cared about you just as she would care for her sister. After all, you were her kouhai, too.

All the team approached the entrance of the gym, where a group of males were waiting. Your first thought about them was that many of them certainly had very unique hairstyles, despite that, they seemed nice. 

You stared at the taller one, who seemed to be the captain. He took a step and shook his hand with Daichi's, greeting all the team. A boy with blonde and brown hair stared at you and Shimizu. "They got female managers! A beautiful one and a cute one" he said sobbing. You didn't know what was happening to him, so you took a step closer to him, since he seemed to be in pain. 

"Hey, are you okay?" You asked. He immediately stopped making noises and slowly turned towards you. He stared at you with a shocked expression "Is she really talking to me?" He said speechless. You nodded and suddenly he felt backwards on his back. Nishinoya and Tanaka realized what was all the fuss about around the managers and started to surround you two, hissing at everyone so they won't approach you two and sending death glares at them.

Soon, you were sitting on the bench, watching the match. Nekoma was pretty good. They were a balanced team. At first, you were surprised at the skills of their libero. He even received Asahi's spikes. You cheered for you team and clapped when Noya saved the ball. But later, the captain of the other team caught your eyes. He was great in almost every aspect of the game, he could receive, spike, and specially block every ball. You ended staring at him for the rest of match, amazed at his play.

Karasuno did well, but they weren't able to win any of the sets. The sun started to go down and they were really exhausted. Hinata kept saying that he wanted to play more, however the other players were already at their limits. 

You stood up and took the water bottles. Shimizu and you handed them, along with towels, to your team. You went to Nishinoya, who calmly accepted them, although he was panting. "Nishinoya, you okay?" You asked him. He turned to you and smiled "Yes, I was just thinking that they are pretty good, especially their libero, don't you think?" He said. You nodded enthusiastically as you two started to talk about your impressions of the other team receives too loudly, with sparks on your eyes.

Suddenly, from the other side of the court, the blonde-brown haired guy from before yelled. "Why is the girl praising Yaku-san when I am the ace in this team?!" After that, he received a smack from the libero. You looked at them and smiled. Then, the rest of the two teams joined you and Noya and started chating friendly with each other.

Hinata and Kenma seemed to get along pretty well, as well as Tanaka and Yamamoto, who were alike. Although Yamamoto was shy at first talking to you, he rapidly gained confidence and soon was making flirty jokes to you and laughing. However, when you responded him with a smile, he started to blush a lot. His face was so red that he suddenly turned around so you couldn't see it. 

You, innocently asked what was wrong, but then realised Tanaka's awkward expression and Nishinoya's irritated face. Before you knew it, Nishinoya wrapped harshly his arms around you and put you behind him. "Don't think that way toward our dear manager!" He shouted. 

Tanaka sweatdropped, knowing what was hidden behind his friend's words. "You shouldn't make a move on her, she's already 'taken'" Tanaka whispered in Yamamoto's ear. The boy instantly knew what he was referring to, so he regained composture and turned around again.

Meanwhile, you were hold against Nishinoya's chest, as he pouted, determined to protect you. You could clearly hear Nishinoya's heartbeats because your head was practically pressed against him, and that in a second made you extremely nervous and awkward. However, as much as you thought that his actions were cute, you just felt so embarrased there, so you started to struggle against him. "N-Nishinoya, l-let out..." you stuttered, pushing his hands away. He suddenly realised the fact that he were keeping you forcefully and quickly separated his arms. 

"(Y-Y/N)-san... Sorry" He pulled apart and you gave him your back, with your face still red. Now, Tanaka and Yamamoto were also looking at you, more in a curious way. But you were too embarrassed already to let them see your face, so you started to walk away from them. "Wait, (Y/N)-san!" Nishinoya exclaimed but you were already outside the gym.

"What's up with her?" Yamamoto asked Noya. "I-I don't know..." he said, looking at his hands. 'It is the first time she pull away from me' he thought. 'Maybe she don't like me and was just holding back until now'. 

"You should go talk to her" Tanaka said, staring at his friend who seemed to be sad and over thinking. Noya turned at Tanaka and determinedly nodded, walking away towards the direction you went. 'I'm not going to give up on her!' he thought with confidence.

Meanwhile, you were walking around outside of the gym, wandering. When you finally cleared you mind you realised your mistake. 'Maybe Nishinoya took it the wrong way' you thought, regretting running away so suddenly. Just when you were confident to go talk to Nishinoya again, someone grabbed your shoulder from behind. "Hey, what are you doing here?"

You turned around to look at the person and saw a tall black haired man. It was the captain from Nekoma. However, you couldn't remember his name "Ehm, sorry, what was your name?" you asked him, earning a laugh from him. 

"It's Kuuro. And you are (Y/N), am I right?" you confirmed him with a nod, although you were uncomfortable with him calling you by your first name. "So, what are you doing?" He asked curiously. "You seem sad, did you have a fight with your boyfriend or something?" He teasingly said. "M-my boyfriend?" you said shocked. What was he talking about?

"Yeah, isn't he the short one with spiky hair? You know, the libero." he said calmly moving his hands simulating spiky hair. The mention of Nishinoya made you tensed up, and that was clearly notice by the black haired boy. "No, he's just my friend" you said, a bit too awkwardly. At your response, Kuuro smirked. Suddenly, you felt one of his arms around your waist, as the other one took your hand. You looked with wide eyes at Kuro. "Well, if you are not with anyone, maybe you can spend some time with me, right?"

"Eeehm, I'm sorry Kuuro-san but I have to go" you quickly said, not wanting to be that close with someone you just met. "C'mon, don't be so mean~ I noticed how you just stared at me during the match. It's fine if you are interested in me" He replied, obviously trying to flirt with you, but not forcing you to stay close to him.

"Hey! Leave her alone!" You heard a familiar voice yelled from afar. Kuuro looked at Nishinoya who was approaching you two rapidly. You managed to get free of Kuuro, as he replied the other boy. "Why? I'm just trying to befriend her" He casually said, only making Noya more irritated. You walked towards Noya as the two boys locked gazes.

"Let's go inside (Y/N)-san" You nodded at him and waved goodbye to Kuro. You two started to walk towards the gym as Kuuro sighed. "So she lied to me. She is dating him after all" He said talking to himself. You didn't noticed him talking, but Nishinoya did, and he turned to Kuuro again. The tall boy was surprised at the intense look he was receiving. "We are not dating yet, but she's mine"
