A few minutes later, you and your team were heading towards the girls dressing room. However, the least thing you were thinking about was changing clothes.
Why were you so shocked? It was clear that your team was going to lose any time soon, you didn't practised much after all.
But why did it feel so worst?
Even though you said all those things to your team in order to motivate them, and in the end, you were the one who misspent all those points by not receiving the ball.
Even though you promised Nishinoya you will do your best. Maybe it was true that you were a burden to this team.
Suddenly, Yui bowed in front of you. "Thank you, (Y/N)-san!" She shouted, surprising you, who were seconds ago mentally absent.
Since you didn't say anything after the match ended, the captain was getting worried that you were over thinking and somehow knew you were blaming yourself.
Aihara slowly approached you, as well as the other girls from the team. You didn't knew what were they doing. Seeing your confused expression, Yui spoke up. "I think we all share the same feeling" She said, looking confidently at her team and then, staring at you. "We are grateful that we were able to play"
"Yes, thanks to you we managed to win the first match, neither of us imagined that" Aihara said, with a smile and a hand in her head. "But we couldn't say that we were going to lose out loud" Sasaki commented, earning a grin from her senpai.
The captain took a step closer to you and gently hold both of your hands in hers. "I don't know what happened to you with the girl from the other team, but you surely are an excellent player" She told you with a determined expression, the same look in everyone's face. "Thank you for being the Guardian Deity of this team"
With all of that, a tear started to roll down in your cheek. However, you quickly turned so your teammates couldn't see your face.
Maybe high doesn't really matter. Yes, you remembered what Nishinoya told you days after you two met.
"Height is not necessary in volleyball, the only thing you need is determination!"
He was right. 'I was a fool thinking that way...' you thought, quickly cleaning the tears in your face. Without turning around, you excused yourself a minute and went to the toilet to calm yourself down.
Maybe you had to start seeing things from another perspective.
* A few minutes later *
You hurried back to the girls dressing room. Looking for them, you saw Aihara already packing her things. "Hurry up, (Y/N). Other teams are coming here too" She told you.
The rest of the girls were ready as well, and you proceed to hurry and change. However, you couldn't find your bag in the place you let it.
"Sasaki-san, have you seen my bag? I left it right here" You asked the girl, who was packing her things too.
"Eh? I thought you had it with you" Sasaki said. Yui came in and said to you that they were going to see the other matches, and that if you hurried you would be able to watch the male team play.
But before that, you had to find your bag. It took you a few minutes, wandering around. You casually started opening the stalls of the toilet.
