Your POV_

Ajax and Cora's hands were warm against mine, luckily, I had received barely any burns there. Besides, my burns only hurt nowadays with a lot of force.

My eyes met theirs, three different colors hitting mine.

"Come on, tell us about how you are," Ajax digs, a chuckle leaving his lips.

"Honestly, I'm fine," I shake off his question as I smile. He rolls his different colored eyes and Cora raises an eyebrow.

"Seriously? Do you think we're idiots? Holding in how you feel will just make things worse," Her words smash into my ears with just as much fervor as she spoke with. I blink once, then twice, and then once more.

Suddenly, the few tears I was blinking back are spilling out as they embrace me in a hug.

"Everything hurts," I hiccup, my hands gripping onto their shirts as they nuzzle into my shoulders. "Everything."

They let go of me and stand up from the table we were seated at.

"Let's go upstairs," Cora mumbles, a kind smile brushing her lips. I nod and follow the twins as they whisper to each other. Cora hits his arm suddenly and she looks back at me, smiling. I chuckle at them as I wiped the stained tears from my face.

I climb up the stairs slowly, the movement hurting more than I expected it to, but nonetheless, I moved on.

We reached the top and Ajax unlocked the door revealing their house that was on top of the café. Cora puts her arm on my back, helping me subtly up the last stair to the house.

We took a seat on their couch, the familiar scent causing me to smile. Memories of being a child flooded back as my smile expanded.

My eyes still open, I saw three children running around the living space. Giggles like a distant call between friends.

"Hurry!" A faint voice shouted as a child Ajax sprinted ahead of us both. I chuckled at the high pitch.

The translucent figures run in front of the kitchen entrance, their smiles wide. Soon, they dissipate into the air as Ajax and Cora walk through them. Teapot and cups on an elegant tray in Cora's hands.

"Tea?"
______________

I took a sip of my tea as I finished my long story. Cora's lip quivered in a mix of anger and sadness. Ajax's knuckles needed in white as he clenched his fist.

"I don't understand, what was his aim?" Ajax seethed, teeth clenching and reflecting the same white that covered his knuckles.

I looked at the tea, shoved between my shaking hands, "To be honest, I'm not quite sure. He didn't seem to want to kill me and he was too unfocused to seduce me."

"From what you've told us, it seems as though he just wanted to keep you there. But, that makes no sense," Cora whispered, her voice cracked slightly but she held the pool of tears back.

I looked in her eyes, sadness and pity hid behind them. I quickly looked away, upset. I hated pity.

"He just wanted to make people worry about you," Ajax hissed. "That fu-" Ajax's voice was cut off by the doorbell to their apartment ringing.

Wanting to get out of the tense atmosphere, I instantly stood, "I'll get the door."

"Check who it is first," Cora shouted to me as I  approached the door. I nodded, knowing she wouldn't see me but it felt like a reassurance to myself.
