CHAPTER 1

I hate it here so much. I don't know why my parents find it amusing to torture me. Its whatever I guess. It's not like I was at home anyway, I had just snuck out. Going where, I'm not sure, I just needed to get out. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and shuffled through some music, I couldn't decide if I was in the mood for falling in reverse, twenty one pilots or escape the fate so I chose blessthefall instead. I had always fantasized about meeting Beau Bokan in person, but the chances of that were unlikely. My parents hate my music, and that's why I hate them. Blessthefall had just recently come to my town, I was so pumped to see them. Then all the sudden my mom got super mad at me.

"Who showed you this demonic music?!" she'd say. ugh. I couldn't stand it. I could never understand why-

"Perry!" I heard a shout come from behind me and I quickly spun around to see my best friend Ashley, and trailing behind her, her brother Andrew. I pulled out my headphones and smiled.

"Hey" I said to them. They seemed super excited about something, but it was hard to understand anything from their gasping and slurred speech. Ashley pulled out three thin pieced of paper and waved them around my face, "I got these...and oh my God...and we're gonna go...oh my God...I'm so excited...can you believe?.." she said. I giggled a little bit and grabbed the paper from her. I froze as I read the small slips of paper. oh my God there is no way. The slips of paper read,

VIP Blessthefall Chicago Main theatre. 8:30 May 27th and pass to meet-the-artist after party.

"No fucking way." I said, still completely breathless.

"Isn't it crazy?! we have three tickets! you, me and Andrew we can all go!" she said with a crazy smile I've never seen before.

"Ash, May 27th is in three days, and we'd have to take a plane to Chicago. How did you even get these?"

"Drew entered a competition and won three free tickets and airfare paid all expenses!" she said. I couldn't even think straight.

"So tomorrow then?" I said laughing.

"Yes! pack your bags Perry!" Ash said as she danced away, to her house down the street.

"Wait what time is the flight?!" I shouted after her. A muffled response from Andrew found its way to me,

"1:15, we'll pick you up at noon."

So that was it. I was flying to Chicago to meet Beau Bokan. Holy shit. I immediately ran back home, although I had to be quiet going inside. It was 2:30am, I had an hour to pack before my Stepdad woke up to go to work...

...

I woke up at 11:00 the next morning to my sister singing from down the hall. Ugh. I hated her singing, I disregarded it and went into the bathroom to take a shower. I plugged in my phone and played some music, singing along like I was giving my own private concert just for me. I don't can't remember the last time I was this happy. I had to try really hard to make it seem like everything was normal to my mom though, I couldn't be, 'happy' in her presence. Not the way I was now. Finally the time came where Andrew and Ashley came to pick me up and luckily, my mom had left to the store so it was an easy get away. Andrew helped me put my bag in the trunk with theirs.

"Shotgun!" I called, drew grunted.

"Fine." he said. I put on my seat belt and turned to Ash, pretty much squealing about nothing. The drive to the airport wasn't long, 30 minutes maybe. I was literally shaking with excitement check in and security went smooth and we had boarded the flight by 1:10.

"I would've never expected this." I said, laying my head back on the headrest.

"I know! It's crazy right? I'm so excited!" Ash said. So then we took off, headed straight to Chicago.

CHAPTER 2

We landed in Chicago at 3:20pm.

"Oh my God we're finally here!" Ash squealed behind me. I didn't reply, I was still trying to wrap my head around the fact that I was going to meet Beau. I turned on my phone and the happy little butterflies plummeted into my stomach and became gut wrenching demons.

11 missed calls, 21 New messages.

"Oh shit." I said aloud. I scrolled through them all.

Mom: Perry where are you?

Mom: Come home now

Mom: Answer me

Mom: Perry I swear to God if you don't get home I'll...

And so on, I replied..

Perry: Mom, I'm in Chicago. I'm not 13 anymore, I'm 22, I don't belong to that house.

"Perry what's wrong?" Ash said. I just showed her the face of my screen.

"Oh." was all she said. I shoved my phone in my back pocket.

"Are you guys hungry?" Drew asked. We all started walking to baggage claim.

"Yeah," I said "Do you think we could find a McDonald's or somethin around here?"

"Of course," Drew said, "Let me just call my cousin real quick, So he knows where to meet us." and then Drew dismissed himself. Meanwhile Ashley and I grabbed our bags and met him outside by a red car.

"Guys! over here!" Drew shouted. Ashley and I dragged our bags over to the car and gave them to drew, who proceeded to load them in the back. When Ashley and I got in the car and young man swung around to greet us.

"Cuz!" he shouted to Ash, whom reached over to give him a one armed hug.

"Hey!" She said, "How are you?!"

"I'm doing pretty great," he replied, "who's your friend?" he asked nodding his head towards me. I spoke for myself.

"I'm Perry," I said and gave a small, slightly awkward, waving gesture.

"Are you Perry the platypus?!" he said, laughing. I mentally facepalmed.

"Haha, no most definitely not Perry the platypus, if that were so, I wouldn't be a girl and I can promise you that I would actually be a platypus...not a human." He kinda just laughed.

"Well nice to meet you Perry, I'm Marcus, but everyone usually just calls me Marc." he said. Drew opened to passenger door and greeted Marc almost the same as Ashley.

"We're all pretty hungry, man. You have food at the house?" Drew asked Marc.

"Yeah, Felicia is cooking up something good." he replied. my phone buzzed and I pulled it out to see who it was. my mom had texted me back.

Mom: Why do you have to be my daughter? you're such a waste. Now that you're gone, don't come back.

"That bitch." I said out loud. It got quiet. Then I realized we had been talking about this girl Felicia and I turned red.

"No! No, no, I wasn't meaning her. I'm so sorry, I was talking to myself." I blurted. Ash looked a me funny and broke the ice by continuing the conversation with her cousin. Eventually we pulled up to a really nice house,

"Wow." I said. "Marc, what do you do for a living?" I asked. 'His occupation was obviously something that made good money' I thought to myself.

"I'm a director." He answered simply. Ash, Drew and I got our bags and were led inside. A tall Hispanic woman will long curly black hair opened the door, I assumed this was Felicia, and I was correct.

"Oh my god! Ashley! Andrew! it's been so long!" she screamed. Jesus, were all Hispanics this loud?.

She approached me.

"Who's this?" she asked, looking back at Drew and Ashley.
