Open Water - (Beau Bokan fanfiction)

CHAPTER 18

*Elliots P.O.V.*
I heard footsteps and looked up to see Jared, Matt and Eric coming down the hallway. I stood up, wiping away a flew tears and meeting them halfway.
"Woah, dude are you alright?" Eric said when he saw me. It must have been obvious that I was being emotional. Ugh.
"Yeah, I'm fine, just worried..." I said scratching the back of my head, Eric patted me on the back. Matt was holding some flowers and I automatically felt a pang in my chest. What the hell was that? Jealousy? I can't already be feeling jealous can I? I shook it off. I just have a little crush on her.. I told myself. We walked down the hallway to the room, and entered to find Kendall a little more awake now. We all filled the room and it felt lighter.
"Hey Kenny-ken!" Jared said playfully giving Kendall a one armed hug, "How are ya feelin'?" He asked. Kendall giggled, which made me smile.
"Better." She said smiling up at everybody. Matt bowed at Kendall's bedside, presenting the bouquet of flowers.
"My Lady," He said in a silly British accent. She laughed at that, taking the flowers and resting them on her lap.
"Thank you good sir." She replied.
"I'm glad you're okay," Eric said patting her head in an awkward way that resulted in giggles.
"Yeah." Kendall said and looked around smiling at everyone. 
"So what happened?" He asked to all of us in general. The room fell silent. The thing was no one really knew what happened...except Kendall.
"I had a nightmare." She said simply, caressing the flowers in her lap. It was again silent.
"Well is anyone hungry? I'll run to McDonalds." Jared said, attempting to break the awkward silence.
"Yeah, dude I'm starved." Eric said.
We all ended up going except Beau and Perry, who stayed with Kendall. We decided to eat at McDonalds and take Beau and Perry's food to them after we ate.
*Perry's P.O.V.*
"Well is anyone hungry? I'll run to McDonalds." Jared said. Honestly I didn't notice how hungry I was until he said that.
"Yeah, dude I'm starved." Eric said.
"You guys go ahead, Beau and I will stay here. We'll text you our order." I said, waving them off.
"Alright, well, we'll be back," Eric said "C'mon Matt." Matt got up and followed Elliot, Eric and Jared out the door. I stared at my sister, just thinking about everything she's had to encounter that I never knew about. I'd been to selfish to worry about anyone but myself.

"This is all my fault." I said, tears starting to form in my eyes. I held them back. Beau grabbed my hand and squeezed it tight.

"Perry, none of this is your fault." He said simply. But it is.

"Yes Beau, this is all my fault. None of this wouldn't have happened if I had stayed home." I said tears starting to fall. Goddamn those tears.

"But Perry, if you had stayed home look at all the things that wouldn't have happened." He said, taking his other hand and lifting my chin. Again I was lost in his eyes, like two oceans, vast and unending. Like open water. I leaned my forehead against his, crying a bit harder now. "Don't worry, I've got you, you're safe with me." He said, stroking my cheek. I looked away from Beau and faced the hospital bed. I gripped my sister's hand, she was unconcious again. She kept hazing in and out of conciousness, but the nurse told me that was normal.

"Babe what do you want from Mcdonalds?" Beau asked me. I just shook my head.

"Uh..just...I don't know, get me chicken nuggets or something." I said shallowly.

"Anything to drink?" He asked.

"A coke I guess." I said. Beau finished his text and then got up to excuse himself.

"I'll be right back, I'm gonna go to the bathroom." He said, walking out the door. I nodded my head, but I didn't think he saw me. Just as he shut the door Kendall woke up again. I squeezed her hand, and smiled at her.

"Hey there," I said. She smiled.

"Hey."

"So, the doctors said they'd discharge you later this afternoon." I said, trying to cheer her up.

"That is good," She said and smiled. A pause. "Have you talked to mom?" She asked, seeming cautious about how she asked the question.

"No, but that is something we should talk about when we get home." I said. Beau walked in.

"You're awake." He said, smiling at her. Yes, she's awake.
