2 years ago"Why so early?" James complained.
Nadine rolled her eyes. "Bakit ka nagrereklamo hindi naman ikaw ang nagsisign up para sa 8 am na lecture," Nadine replied swiftly.
James gave her a clueless look. "Okay, wait. You're asking why I'm complaining because I'm not signing up for the 8 am lecture, right?"
Nadine nodded as she let out a chuckle.
James pouted. "You said it too fast and too softly I couldn't pick it up word for word," he muttered.
"It's just amusing but I'm happy you're asking. The more you ask, the more you'll learn," Nadine commented.
"Which is why I wanna know what's going through your mind in choosing an 8 A.M. class when the 11 A.M. exists and is open at the moment," James shot back. "I'm asking because I want to learn, diba? he added, slightly pitching his voice higher.
"I actually prefer early classes. Makes picking my hours for work more convenient," she explained.
James let out a sigh as he wrapped an arm loosely around her shoulders, prompting Nadine's eyes to widen at the sudden gesture.
"....Guess I'll have to sign up for that time too," he said in defeat.
Nadine arched her brow before placing a hand on his jaw and physically rotating it so their eyes met. "I know we said that we're in this together but you don't need to sign up for the same time as me. Knowing you, I doubt you'd even wake up on time to get to it."
"Does anyone ever make it to their 8 A.Ms on time?" James questioned.
"James every time we plan to have breakfast together it ends up becoming lunch, and we plan for 10 A.M. what more--" Nadine was cut off as James tickled the side of her body, causing her to fall flat onto her bed as the motion elicited a sequel to escape her throat. "Hoy ano ba--" Nadine's head rolled around as James smile deepened.
"I'm not the best with transitioning so I'll need a familiar face," James explained as he briefly stopped his movements to caress the side of her face with the back of his hand. "And I think the fear of being in a crowded lecture filled with people I don't know in my first semester of college is worse than needing to wake up at 6:30 A.M. 3 times a week."
Nadine chuckled as she sat back up and lightly pushed him back. "Wow, natatakot ka rin pala."
"Well, it's not just that," James said as he began to pick at his shirt collar, his gaze bent towards the ground. "You're going into film. I'm gonna be in music. We really won't see each other. So I guess if there's any class that we can do together for gen eds, might as well."
Nadine laughed as she realized what James meant. "James, we're going to the same college. We live close enough to each other. We don't have to be together every second. I'll still be around if you need me and you don't need to pick a time that doesn't work for your body because--"
"I want to," he interrupted.
"As much as it would be fun to share one class together, I'm not interested if it'll just be an inconvenience for you," Nadine stated.
"You're never an inconvenience for me," James replied.
Nadine's eyes lit up. "I-I meant the class time," she corrected.
James' cheeks turned slightly pink. "Oh--right. I mean I have to learn how to wake up early someday so might as well try it. There's a two week grace period for dropping classes without it appearing in your transcript. If I physically can't do it, I'll just change times," he argued.
