Chapter 3

Already three a clock Mary and I spilt up so she could do her detention while I worked on my art assignment. I walk into the classroom starting to pull out all the stuff that I needed to finish my painting, sticking my headphones into my ears I tried to decide on what band to play.

("Who should I listen too today?" "In this moment" or "halestorm"? I think this day calls for some "in this moment".)

Blasting my music threw my headphones, concentrating on my work in front of me I didn't hear or see the door opening and someone walking in. When my song stopped to change to the next song I hear a bang from my right. Spinning around I see Leo standing there with a few of his ghoulish friends trying to be intimidating.Taking my headphones out I was a little worried about how they found me but I wasn't about to let them know that im scared.

"What do you want Anderson.?" I say in a very annoyed tone.

"Well let's start with how your little goth bitch friend sent a book flying at my head in home room today."

"Don't you dare call her a bitch if anything she didn't throw the book hard enough to hit your thick ass head."

I regretted saying anything as soon as I saw the smirk disappear from his face.

For a moment it sounded like I heard a deadly animal like growl came from him. Before I knew it he had his hand gripping my shirt, his knuckles were turning white and with great force he pushed me to the ground. I'm now sitting on the floor glaring up at him with all my might, slowly he moves towards me and is now standing above me looking down at me.

"Oh little miss piggy you and your little friend need to watch what you say to me, otherwise some really unpleasant things are going to start happening."

He comes even closer to me by kneeling down and in a split second he grabs my face with his right hand and pulls me towards him.

"We wouldn't want that to happen now would we piggy."

I closed my eyes and shake my head in agreement with him I didn't really want it to get worse than it already was. ("I don't want Mary involved in it either, I just wanted all of it to end with no more of this bullshit.")

Leo then let's go of my face, gets off of his knee, moves back towards his group of friends and they all leave the art room. Then I realised that he was going to make this year count, Leo was not going to stop until he has completely destroyed me.

I get up dusting myself off, my head turns to the clock and its 4:15pm meaning detention will be over soon and Mary will come looking for me. I pack up my assignment that I didn't get finished and start making my way to Marys class room. Waiting for 15-20 minutes out she walks with the most bored look on her face, it looks like she could bearly keep her eyes open. Walking up to me she yawns out about how she needs to catch up on sleep. We started to make our way to the parking lot where Mary's car was, I always love being in her dark purple torana. We would have the music blasting and it was always a fun ride.

"Hey Mary can we skip shopping today and just go to my place and chill.?"

"Yeah we can if you want......are you ok tho you seem really quiet and pale."

"I'm fine don't stress about me, what would you like to do at mine?"

("That talk with Leo must have really shaken me up.")

"How about a movie.?"

"Sounds great."

We then got in the car and made our way back to my place, feeling relieved that I don't have to walk home with him now knowing the way I take home. It was like any normal car ride home with mary, our favourite songs blasting with the both of us screaming along to the lyrics. We spent the rest of the afternoon and most of the night watching movies, eating junk, listening to music, talking and just showing each other funny things on our phones. Moments like theses are what keep me going without falling apart some days.

"So what is up with that dick Leo what is his problem.?"

"I don't know Mary he just has it out for me."

"Well he better lay off or he will have the big bad Mary after him."

"Hahaha ok booboo."

"You would tell me if he messes with you right? I don't want you thinking you are in this alone."

"Yeah love I would tell you."

("I'm lying to my best friend I feel so low and gross. I can't bring her into this I know she doesn't want me to feel alone but it's not worth her safety. Leo didn't just get popular off his good looks, having money and being a dick to everyone he was actually terrifying. He amost killed a few people in a street fight when they jumped him, I wouldn't believe the ruomers if I had heard them but I actually witnessed it. I was the one that had to call the ambulance for the men that weren't moving after Leo had finished with them. It scared me and what is freaking me out even more is I'm starting to stand up to him, one day he will have enough and I will end up in hospital or even dead. But when he bad mouthed Mary I just lost it, that's why I can't have her involvement she gives me strength to stand up to him and it might end up with us dead.")

"Hello are you even listening to me.?"

"Oh you were talking to me sorry I wasn't listening."

"Are you serious right now you bitch."

"Haha I'm sorry I fell into my own little world and lost contact hehe."

"You're so lucky I love you or I would slap you."

"You're not scary."

SLAP

"Ouch you bitch that hurt."

"Am I scary now bitch haha."

"Maybe just a little."

I started rubbing my arm better after her powerful horse bite that she had done on my arm.

"Well I better head home before my mum loses it."

We started walking to the door of my little apartment.

"All good I'm going to head off to bed after you leave anyway. Say hi to your mum and dad for me."

"I will and you know that offer to move in with my parents is still on the table. It must getting lonely living here by yourself all the time."

"Thanks love I will remember that"

"Anyway bye boo I will see you in the morning at school sleep well."

"Bye and you too."

I waved goodbye to Mary as she drives away, closing my door behind me I walk back inside and start getting ready for bed. I put a baggie t-shirt on and take my pants off and lay down in bed and then the thoughts started taking over my brain, is he going to go after Mary, should I have told her about what he said, should I even go to school tomorrow and will I be able to even handle what he dishes out. Finally the darkness takes over my mind and it feels like my eyes were closed for no more than 5 minutes and my alarm starts.

"Oh god really it's already time to get up."

Rolling to get up I fall out of bed and land straight on the floor face first. I contemplate if I should actually get up and go to school or sleep all day.

"If I don't go Mary might kill me for leaving her alone in the hell hole."

I slowly get up and make my way to shower and to start my usual routine of cleaning myself, getting dressed and packing my bag for another day at school.

" I really don't know what is going to happen today but I have a feeling it's not going to be good."
