Your POV:
You sat in your basement, hiding. "Y/N! Get your ass over here!" Your drunk father ordered. You didn't move an inch as you heard him walk past your hiding place. A tear silently slid down your cheek and landed on the floor. 'Help me...or at least kill me already...I can't handle the pain anymore...' You thought to yourself. You were planning on running away. In your room, that you share with your younger sister, Laurie, are two backpacks filled with essential items. Food, water, clothing, weapons and money. Your sister is hiding in your room, under your bed. 'I wish...that mum were still alive.' You thought to yourself. Your breath hitched when you heard your father get close to your hiding place. "Y/N!" Your father said. He turned on a flashlight and pointed it all around. It went just over you, making you sweat. 'That was clo-' Your thoughts were interrupted by the light flashing in your eyes.

"Oh, there you are. Get up." Your father ordered. You silently cried a bit, and stood up. Your father threw an empty glass beer bottle at you and it broke on your left leg. You hissed in pain as blood dripped from your leg. There were small pieces of glass, cutting your skin. Your father threw another glass at you and this one shattered on your forehead. You fell backwards, your vision blurring. "I hope you don't wake up." Your father announced and laughed. You closed your eyes as you felt darkness creep into you. You fell asleep to the sound of your father's laughter.

You awoke to Laurie, desperately trying to wake you up by shaking you. "Y/N! Dad's asleep, let's go!" Your sister whispered. You nodded and got up off the basement floor. You instantly collapsed after you got up though. "Y/N? Are you okay?" Laurie asked, unable to see the blood due to how dark it was in the basement. You nodded and stood up. This time, you didn't fall. You tip-toed upstairs and tip-toed to your room. Laurie stayed put next to a closed window downstairs. You grabbed the bag and shed a tear, thinking about your mother. "Goodbye." You whispered and left the room. You sneaked over to Laurie. "Let's go...sister..." You mumbled.

Your sister nodded and you helped her open the window, the only escape in sight. The window creaked a bit but you soon got it opened fully. You went out of the window and landed on a nearby tree. "C'mon!" You whispered to Laurie. Her legs were shaky as you reached your arms out to her. She closed her eyes and jumped into your arms. You held her close as you climbed down from the tree. You slipped once, but you caught hold of a nearby branch.

"Is he going to find us?" Your sister whispered to you. "No, he'll never hurt us again." You muttered. You were actually unsure. Your sister stayed silent the rest of the way down. Your feet soon touched the ground and you released your sister. She held your hand as you started running away from the house. She cried quietly as you started running up a...steep hill? (You don't know what Mount. Ebott is...yet.) You sister got tired quickly, so you picked her up and kept running as she slept. You heard a crow making a familiar, "Caw!" You ran a bit faster and went into a forest. The sound of leaves crunching under your feet awoke your sister. "Where...are we going?" She asked and yawned.

"Well...I don't know. I'm just looking around for a good spot, where nobody will find us." You explained. Laurie nodded and you slowed down a bit. You should've stolen a sip of the coffee your dad made. Oh well. "May I walk?" Your sister asked. "Sure, Laurie." You said and put her down to stand. You held her hand, making sure that she won't let go and get lost. Or maybe you're worrying too much. You soon saw a cave. "Laurie! A cave!" You exclaimed. Laurie smiled brightly and approached it, letting go of your hand. But then she seemed like she was falling. "Y/N! H-help!" She shouted as tears escaped her eyes. You sprinted after her, scared.

Your own tears started to make your vision blur. You kept running and she had dissapeared. But you could still hear her cries for help. You jumped and fell into the hole. (Don't be dirty -_-) You wiped your eyes and saw her. You tried to go faster by straightening your arms and leaving them at your sides. It worked. Now, she's reachable. "Y-Y/N!" Laurie said and reached to-words you with her arms. You hugged her close to you and saw something yellow below. You held her so that you would take the hit once you both hit the ground. "Y/N no! Let me get hit!" Laurie begged and squirmed. You just smiled as you felt your head hit the ground. You then blacked out.
