As the world of Cheshire disappeared, I willed myself to absorb the familiar colours and sounds of my kingdom before I was sucked into an entirely new world.

It would be a year before I saw my benign and loving Mother again.

When I opened my eyes, everything had changed.

Just like my Mother said, I had arrived Into my mortal realm bedroom immediately.

I spun around to look at the room that seemed to be fit for only a pampered, extremely spoilt Daughter.

It was about as big as five elephants, a rhino, and possibly a giraffe.

Well. Maybe I was exaggerating, but the room was huge!

It was so amazing. I dropped my trunk on the floor with a thump, my mouth hanging open.

Shelves and shelves of ancient and dusty books were stacked in a whole row, with a gargantuan T-Rex fossil surveying the whole scene in the middle.

My study desk, modest and clean of dirt, was positioned near a modern and up-to-date open air elevator that probably led downstairs.

As I walked into another part of my bedroom, I saw a giant television in front of my comfy bed that was fit for a king.

I had no words. Mother had outdone herself.

But it wasn't the end yet.

As I was about to go down, I saw a walk-in closet that seemed to go on for miles. I strode in, mouth hanging open.

The hangers were dressed to the nines in branded clothing for all sorts of events, from an evening cocktail gown to a simple t-shirt.

I squealed, jumping around and waving my paws-hands in the air, surprised and on cloud nine.

I couldn't believe it! This place was way better than the Cheshire realm.

I went on a mad "exploring spree" trying on some dresses, putting a top hat here, a little ribbon there. I discovered a simply luxurious ensuite bathroom, with a Hot Tub and even complete with this cute and tiny little duckies.

Giggling, I went to the French windows lining the room which looked upon the seaside and breathed in a refreshing and salty smell of the sea.

The waves crashed onto the shore, foam frothing onto the golden grains of sand. Coconut trees swayed in the breeze of the beautiful tropical Singapore, and I sighed in contentment.

The horizon seemed to stretch on forever, and there was no ship in sight.

"Dear, are you awake yet?"

I jumped, just as the door to my room opened.

My "Mother" was called Agnes and she was a stay-at-home mum. Mother had drilled this into me several times back home.

She was beautiful, in an extremely Asian way. Her eyes were like almonds, warm and brown, and her shiny black hair was pulled back into a neat bun.

For a moment I was rooted to the spot, standing there staring stupidly at her.

Then I reacted.

"Mum! It's so good to see you!" I cried, in this horrible voice that sure wasn't mine.
( I practised at least a million times back at home)

I was engulfed into a tight, break-your-neck embrace, followed by two kisses on each cheek.

"It been so long since I've seen you, child! Dear lord, look at me!"
