Cerise was living the good life literally. She was really rich, a whole basement full of expensive Maseratis, Mercedes and Ferraris. I thought about the day I had just spent at Cerise's. I had admired her for the past week and now I was feeling rather doubtful as she was almost the exact opposite of me. I wasn't that poor since I did stay in a condominium. But the hope of winning the heart of a billionaire's Daughter was diminishing. Cerise was like a daydream, very intelligent, charming and genuine. Whereas I was just an ordinary boy, nothing to show off and nothing fantastic.
Thoughts of today flowed through my mind : how we had a personal chat in the closet, how I saw her true self through the graceful facade, and how she was more brilliant than I had ever imagined. Even without her wealthy background, she was probably on every guy's wishlist for Christmas. The moment I stepped into her house was the moment I knew that I had had a crush on a girl that I knew absolutely nothing about.
She wanted to know if I had any ancestors with magic? That was truly odd and seriously a little random. I soon reached my place and Terence was off. I made my way to my apartment and boarded the lift, pressing the twelfth button.
I fiddled with my phone, where there were many incoming messages from Samuel and the girls.
I opened Samuel's message first, and there was a list of annoying questions.
"Did you kiss? Did you ask her out? How did her room look like? Was her dad fierce? Was her mum nice? Did you like her in that way? Did she turn out to be insane and obsessive?"
The girls' messages were mostly the same, varying from between "You-guys-would-look-so-cute-together" and "I-will-knock-out-your-front-teeth-if-you-hurt-Cerise."
I replied with a vague 'no comment', leaving them to stew for a while. When I was about to unlock my house door, it swung open, and my older Brother, Gregory, face met mine, a smirk across his face.
Gregory was three years older than me, and had recently returned home from London from an internship in medicine. He was a jerk sometimes, ever the snitch when we were younger, and now the annoying tease.
I rolled my eyes as I tried to brush past him as he smiled wider, his smugness exuding from him in foul fumes.
"How was your date Drew?" He sniggered.
"That's none of your business, Greg." I said,"so move. You're blocking the way."
" Mom was worried because you didn't come home till so late so she called Samuel and he told us. So is the new girl hot?" Said Gregory happily.
"Oh yes," I replied sarcastically, "hotter than the month of July."
I pushed him out of the way and made a beeline straight to my room. I shut and locked the door , heaving a sigh of relief. But when I thought it was over I was dead wrong. I heard a muffled giggle from under my bed. I peered under my bed and found Anna my younger sister. With a nest of wild brown hair, large eyes and a toothy grin, she was the princess of the house and Greg's sidekick.
"Andrew has a girlfriend! Andrew has a girlfriend!" She singsonged at the top of her voice.
"Anna!" I shouted, as she rolled out with a head full of pleats and ribbons, wearing a blue Elsa dress. She blew a raspberry at me as she attempted to sing Let it Go with no success.
I shooed her out of my room and finally had some alone time. I reorganised my thoughts and packed up the mess in my room and my school materials.
After an hour, there came a knock on my door.
"Drew, you home?" My Mother's sweet voice echoed through the door. "Dinner's ready!"
"Coming!" I called, as I stood up to open the door. She peered in, her eyes surveying the room in disbelief.
