With the catchy tune playing behind us, I awkwardly shuffled to the beat, waving my hands in unison.

"What is that?" Samuel shrieked at my dance moves,"Those are awful!"

I scowled at him."I don't know how to dance okay?"

He stopped the music for the tenth time in the row since I came over to his house to practise dancing.

"You have to feel the music in your veins. Make it control you!" He says dramatically.

"That sounds safe." I retorted.

"We'll try again."

The beginning of the song started.

"Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere..." (DONT STOP BELIEVING)

I closed my eyes and imagined Cerise next to me.

"The girls sent us a photo."Said Samuel looking at his phone.

I went over to take a look. Selina had sent a photo to Samuel of the girls preparing for the dance.

There were three girls, all in bathrobes, avocado masks slathered on their faces.

"Are they going to go like that?" I joked, "They look like zombies."

"Your girl isn't in the photo," Samuel smirked, Pointing to the faces, but none was the one I wanted to see.

"Apparently," Samuel continued, "they said the groom shouldn't see the bride while she's getting ready."

He looked closer at the photo, before adding,"And maybe that's why I can't see Selina there too."

We sent the girls a photo as well. In the photo, we tried looking like James Bond. With sunglasses on and a fake gun in our hands, I'd say that we looked like his spitting image.

I hoped that I looked impressive, because Samuel's parents did NOT look impressed.

Samuel's parents were uptight, classy and snobbish. His Father always dressed in a neat suit and tie, no matter what and no matter where. I have never seen him in a t-shirt. Samuel would probably die of shock if he ever saw his Father in casual clothes.

His Mother was a housewife and loved doing housework. I have never seen Samuel's house with dirty clothes on the floor or with newspapers on the floor. There was not even a strand of hair or dust anywhere to be seen. It always smelled of detergent and bleach. His Mother was constantly watching me with eagle eyes, as if afraid I would take out a jug of mud and fling it on her pristine walls.

In the car , his Mother said in a very
off-handed manner,"So boys, I assume you know how to treat the girls right?"

There was a silence.

She took this as disagreement, and continued yammering on about what to do, including a whole host of items that I wouldn't have thought of.

Both of us exchanged a look as we stepped out of the car.

"I'm sorry about my mum," Samuel shrugged casually.

I nodded absentmindedly. My mind was a blank as I looked at the vibrant decorations of the hall.

"Wow!" Samuel said in awe.

There was white confetti on the floor with blue silk draped across windows. The normally Mundane school now shone in bright Colours as the disco ball turned round and round. All the students were dressed to the nines, and suddenly, I felt as though my tuxedo could hardly stand out.
