Andrew had kept his word. No one knew about my secret.
I knew I could never go back home. If I went back empty handed I would be considered an outcast, and adding to the fact that I had fallen in love with Andrew...
It would be suicide to go back.
Sevince had packed my books along for my stay in the mortal realm. It was nostalgic, going through the fairytales that my Mother had once used to lull me to sleep.
I wished Mother never had other plans for Cheshire. I wished she had never broken the policy. I wished she wasn't made of disgusting, horrible lies that hid her true personality.
I didn't know whether to regard her as my Mother anymore.
Whether I could still trust her.
I sighed, as I picked up the next book from the pile. It didn't look like any special book, just a small book with a purple background.
I flipped to the cover and my heart literally stopped. "Portals",it read.
With trembling fingers, I scrolled through the pages, finally stopping on the chapter that described the gateway between the Cheshire realm and the mortal realm.I ran my finger down the page.
"Only the descendants of the two — who — one —can control the portals between the worlds."
Holes appeared in the dusty page as I read."No..." I muttered, as I tried to seize the tiny torn bits of paper, but they were gone.
I put down the book gently on my desk and took my phone out. Fingers trembling, I wrote a text message to Andrew.

"So...what did you call me here for?" Andrew asked, as I closed the door to my room and walked to sit next to him.
"I got this book... and it's important...but-" I broke off as Andrew reached past me to grasp the book on my table, which was right behind me.
His brief touch on my arm sent a magical sensation up my arm. We were determinedly avoiding the subject of the kiss and did whatever we could to avoid mentioning it. If I hadn't seen him blush as he entered my house just now, I would have thought that he had forgotten about it.
I flushed briefly as he glanced up at me again, before looking away.
To break the silence, he flipped through the dusty pages, stopping at the page where I had left off.
"Some of the words are missing," he said, frowning at the page.
"And that's why I brought you here." I replied.
"So...I'm supposed to be a wizard right?" He asked.
"Yeah. Just like Merlin."
"Well, if I had powers, they haven't showed up yet."
I clapped my hands together.
"That's it!" I said excitedly, as I dug through all the books on my table, finally grabbing an old spell book.
I started helping Andrew try to awaken his powers, however, all the methods we tried did not work. We tried everything from ancient ceremonial practices to him doing his favourite things.
"I think this is going to work." I told him.
With a needle in my hand, I tugged Andrew's hand towards mine.
"What are you doing?" He asked suspiciously, as I inched the needle closer and closer.
"No! No! No!" He yelled as my needle dug into his skin.
