The Wolf and Her Clown (Hisoka Fanfic)

Chapter 28: Final Phase

Soon we landed it was time for the final phase to begin. It was going to be one on one duels with only one loser and everyone else passing. I stayed in my wolf form the whole time and stayed next to the Chairman's feet as he explained to the ones left what was to happen. When he finished explaining the rules and the idea of this phase we started the first match which was Gon vs that ninja guy Hanzo. This match seemed to be more of a who is more stubborn than an actual fight. Hanzo had the advantage of being bigger and older but that didn't matter to Gon and wasn't going to give up not even when Hanzo threaten to break his arm and then....well he did break it.

Everyone else especially Kurapika and Leorio seemed upset by it but no one was more upset then me, being a wolf meant I could hear it when it broke...it was a clean break and I lied down and placed my front paws over my ears. I also had to cover my mouth with my paws when we all laughed at Gons words and actions a few times. This match was too much for me to handle because it made it so difficult to stay in wolf form, finally the match was over by the only way it could be; by Hanzo knocking Gon out cold.

I followed as they carried Gon to a different room and once there I changed back to my human form to bandage him up and give him some medicine; I also left some for him for when he woke up. I then headed back to watch the rest of the matches...in wolf form of course. I sat back down next to the chairman and nodded to let him know Gon is fine and he petted my head. Then the second match began. Kurapika .vs. Hisoka I knew I couldn't interfere but I was on edge and then Hisoka did something that really pissed me off and made me want to kill him. He whispered Kurapikas ear about 'the spider' knowing he would want to know more.

THAT BASTARD!! HE WAS SUPPOSED TO STAY AWAY FROM KURAPIKA!!! I'LL KILL HIM!!

Hisoka gave up him fight and smirked at me as he came back to the side lines and we went to the next fight where Pokkle gave up against Hanzo, next was Hisoka .vs. Bordoro where he nearly killed Bordoro and told him that it was best to give up now or die. So Bordoro gave up and we went to the next match, Killua .vs. Pokkle but Killua said it wouldn't be worth the fight and gave up, Bordoro was still hurt from his match with Hisoka so we skipped his match against Leorio until he was ready; meaning we went to the next one. Killua .vs. Pin head, his older brother but he didn't know it was him until the match began. 

Poor thing seemed so scared as they exchanged words and then Illumi said he'd go after Gon, Hisoka tensed up and Hanzo, Leorio and Kurapika plus myself blocked the door. So Illumi went back to Killua and told him to give up before he touched and poor Killua did as he was so scared...my guess, Illumi had a needle planted in Killua's head. Killua gave up and Illumi whispered something I couldn't understand and I could tell Killua changed. 

With everyone still a little on edge we went on to the last match. Leorio .Vs. Bordoro. Killua interfered and killed Bordoro. So when I sensed that Killua changed it must have been him going into his assassin mode but what makes it worst this time is that he didn't go into it on his own, Illumi forced him to and that makes me upset and sad for him.
So this phase saw two people fail, Bordoro who was killed and Killua who killed him...after Killua killed him and left...my guess, to go home. And even though tensions were still high we had to go on to the very end of the exam give out the actual license, and keeping to my new job I followed them in wolf form and stayed next to the chairman's feet. Before we went into the other room to give them out the chairman pulled me aside and handed me my licence, saying that I still passed but I still had the job of keeping an eye on Hisoka. I quickly went and put mine in the room down the hall where I kept my bag at then rushed back to the others and sat at the Chairman's feet.

Everyone got their license but before the chairman or the green-bean could explain about being a hunter and everything, Gon came through the door. Gon was heading straight for Illumi, my guess, he found out about Killua. Gon was so mad he lifted Illumi out of his seat and he even crushed his arm, and I mean crushed, I could hear it break and I had to hold back from whining or intervening. Gon and Illumi were talking and then everyone else had something to say about their matches or something and I was starting to get a headache but thankfully the Chairman calmed everyone down. The little green-bean explained about being a hunter and the license then everyone left. I rushed down to my room in wolf form so I could get out of my wolf form and the whole time I could sense someone following me. It wasn't long after I entered the room, closed the door and changed into my human form with just my ears and tail showing, that someone knocked on the door and entered into it.
