Chapter 8: A Truth & A Threat!

Before long I had noticed the two kids from before pass everyone including me. I was very impressed and curious of what else they are capable of.

"Hey Ponzu I'm going on head. I'll you outside...Right?"

"Of course." she said nodding to me.

So I took off using more speed to get to the top of the stairs a few feet behind the two kids. They made it out just as the examiner stopped at the top. Once out they began arguing over who was first and even asked the examiner. Once he told them it was a tie they argued more and then Gon I think, asked if this was phase 2 but the examiner said it wasn't we still had a ways to go.

"Wow you two are really good. But you shouldn't drag the examiner into your arguments." I said starting to stretch my arms.

"Hey! Momo-Kun! You made it! Yeah so this means that you're going to tell me if you're a dog or wolf right?!?" Gon yelled happily as I walked over to them.

"I'll tell you but you have to promise not to tell anyone else ok." I said sticking out my pinky finger.

"Ok! I promise!" he grinned wrapping his pinky finger around mine.

"Why?" The white haired one...Killua I think is his name, asked.

"Some people freak out when they find out the truth and try to kill me. They call me a monster and others want to kill me for my ears and tails. You know wolf tails and ears can go for a lot of money in the black market." I said pulling my hat back enough to show them my ears, then pulled it back down again.

"WOW!" Gon exclaimed smiling big.

"How do we know that those ears are even real? And besides I don't see a tail?" Killua said crossing his arms.

This kid is starting to annoy me and I let a low growl out leaning down to look at the kid right in the eyes.

"You're lucky that more people are about to walk out of the tunnel in 5 seconds or else I would show you my true wolf form by ripping your throat out with my teeth....I don't care if you are an assassin or not. I won't hesitate to kill." I said growling and baring my teeth.

"How did you know about the others and about me?" he asked as the others started to walk out of the tunnel.

"All my senses are 10x stronger than that of a regular human. If you want a more specific answer, then make it through the next stage." I said turning away from them and towards Ponzu.

"Ok Momo-Kun! We will!" Gon said happily but I sensed that Killua was upset and wanted to hurt me.

As I walked over to Ponzu I noticed she was a little out of breathe but not as much as some of the others.

"See I knew we could both make it up those stairs." I said grabbing another water bottle and handing it to her.

"How are you not out of breathe? And you didn't even break a sweat!?" she asked grabbing the water and taking a big chug of it.

"Oh I can run for 3 days straight before I get tired and out of breathe. I'm part wolf remember. We have to be able to run long distances in order to hunt our food." I said smiling.

"That's a little unfair don't you think?" she said laughing a little.

"Maybe, but you made it and are doing a lot better than some of the guys here. Plus I'm on your side. I'll help you...pretty fun having a wolf around huh?"

"Yeah...it is."

We smiled at each other as more people made it our of the tunnel. After a while she started talking about who all she thought was cute out of all the guys. The top one being a kid around her age with long red hair, a hat and some bow and arrows...truly just like my little sister, and when she asked me I just laughed it off and didn't answer because I didn't think any met my taste.

Soon the examiner went to the front of the crowd and I slowly made my way a little closer...separating myself from Ponzu and sadly closer to that creep of a clown. Soon the door we exit out of closed on a guy and that meant that there was no turning back. The examiner started to talk about the other site for phase 2 is across a marsh forest and that creatures try to trick humans, and soon I smelled an odd scent...monkey? I turned towards the smell than a voice spoke and everyone else turned to see a monkey looking like a guy came out from behind the wall of the tunnel saying that he was the real examiner and the other one was a fake. A man faced ape playing dead and looking like are examiner was dragged behind the other man faced ape.

"You have got to be kidding me. He just told us about this and obviously this is another test. Only an idiot would believe that monkey guy." I thought I said to myself; but someone else did hear me.

As people all around us start to agree with the fake; I just realized my point of only idiots believing him, to be true. So that also proved that a lot of idiots where taking this exam. Just then heard some paper or cards shuffle next to me, I turned to see the clown pulling out cards and seeping a little more bloodlust. I had just enough time to duck my head before that creep threw 3 cards each at the two examiners. The fake one got and hit and fell to the ground wile the other caught them.

I was thankful that this stopped the arguing over who was the real one or not so we could move on, but that creep still irritates me. And after he exchanged a few words with the real examiner and then the examiner walked over and talked about the fake who was now being eaten by vultures finally we started to run again through the marsh as the fog started to grow thick. I stayed near him as guys behind us talked about taking him out.

"You wish to say something my little fruit?" he said glancing at me, as Gon and Killua started to run faster.

"Yeah. Watch your back!...and I'm not talking about those guys behind us. If you ever aim at my head again. I'll Kill You!"

"Hmm...but you duked my fruit. Like I said before, you are not quite ripe enough for me to ham...but in time we shall have our fight...Then I can have your blood." he said with a creepy smile.

"Just watch your back!" I growled and started to run faster to catch up to Ponzu who was a little ways behind the examiner.

As the fog got thicker more people separated, and I could hear screams of pain and a strong scent of bloodlust growing.

"Ponzu stay close to the examiner and stay straight."

"Got it!...Wait what about you?"

"I'll be right there....just have a bad feeling about something. I'll see you at the end." I said taking off back into the hick fog towards that clown and his bloodlust.
