The grand chandelier glittered as rays of candles' light passed through it's crystal drops. Music flowed along through the soft whispers among the crowd as people socialized and tried to catch the post-holders' attention.

Samara stood by her mother and father as residents of castle and their own village came to greet them, congratulate them for Samuel Hampton's achievement as Chief Archery Commandant.

But something on Samuel's mind wasn't right. He looked around slowly. His heart was sinking low at an unknown suspense. He didn't know if it was the call of the universe that something wrong was about to happen or it was his own subconscious mind that was pushing him too hard.

He shook his head mildly and turned to his father, noticed him talking to an old-aged couple who just came by to give him his blessings. He smiled heartily at them and nodded respectfully. Just as they left, Samuel gave his father the stressed look.

"I feel suffocated, father. I shall just get myself another glass of wine." His eyes moved towards a particular direction which didn't go unnoticed by Samara.

She smiled at noticing how her gaze ended on a sweet and beautiful, Ida. She had wore a florescent gown, that had a rose made along her shoulder. She had her arm linked with her father who was involved in a group of other high Lords of the castle. Samara bit her lip while noticing that Nathaniel and his parents were standing there too.

"Do you want wine, father? Mother?" The parents shook their heads at Samuel and he smiled while going towards the table to serve himself a glass.

He watched from far as his beautiful Ida talked to the daughters of high Lords with a smile on her face. She was so down-to-earth, a humble woman. She was a proud person with the way she carried such youth and politeness with her.

He was mesmerised. He couldn't just look away. Because of the sudden deaths in the village, Ida had stopped coming to his home to check on him.

He had healed enough to walk slowly without disturbing his stitches. But still he used to feel the pain at certain actions. But now that he was watching her, his whole pain was vanished away.

The little disappointment was still there in his heart that he wanted to be more than an Archery Commandant. He wanted to be the supreme advisor. Though, there was no doubt in Rodwin's demeanor.

He was happy for him. But he was disappointed at himself because he knew how he was better than Nathaniel in the war. Even he had gotten a good position than him. He was holding the power of tackling the soldiers, guards, weapons and horses. That boy was good at socializing but not at wars. He was a good soldier. He just couldn't put fear in the enemy's heart.

But all his thoughts scattered away when Samuel caught Ida looking at him all of a sudden. His breath hitched and he couldn't describe how her one gaze had churned his stomach. She looked divine and radiant.

A soft smile lingered on her lips that made his heart beating faster.

He gulped while blinking slowly. It had been long since he had hold her hand in his. With that wish, he slowly walked out of her sight towards the big doors.

Being in that room full of so many gazes, he was now really suffocated.

Jeffrey laughed along Logan as they watched Violet Swanson from far. Logan sighed heavily.

"She steals the breaths out of me by that single glance."

Jeffrey raised his eyebrows, "Single? Brother, she has been staring at you since the moment you walked in the hall. I tell the truth, she fancies you."
