The sun had calmed down, the warm air turned cold. The usual weather of their village had returned that villagers could no longer hold.
Samara knocked the door with full force, her eyes full of anger. The door opened immediately, a woman showed up who was already judging her class by observing her dress.
"Yes?"
Samara blinked angrily. "Where is Ida? I am here to meet her."
The woman was wearing an apron which made her think that she was a maid. It turned believable when she said, "Madam is resting. She is not available to meet anyone."
Samara glared at her, pushing her away to enter the hall room, looking around. The woman gasped behind her, yelling for a servant immediately.
But Samara had no care. Her brother's heart was at stake, she wouldn't go without a try. "Ida," she yelled angrily. "Ida!"
The footsteps were heard while the woman had started dragging her towards the door. She was bulky unlike Samara who had fat at the right places only.
"Samara?" gasped Ida from behind.
The woman stopped along with Samara who stared at the girl with resentment in her eyes. The red silk dress, showing off her rich class.
Samara flared her nostrils. "I called you friend," she said angrily. "I called you my friend."
Ida flinched from her loud voice. "Samara, I didn't mean to-"
"Hurt my brother? Break his heart by getting engaged to none other than the man I loved. You are wench." Samara said coldly.
"Madame, if I may throw this woman out with your permission." The maid asked glaring at Samara.
Ida shook her head and asked her to leave. She walked towards Samara in utter nervousness. "Why did you do it?" asked Samara while looking at her in pain, controlling a sob.
Ida bit her lip, giving her a helpless look. "My father isn't allowing me to marry him," she choked out. "I love Samuel with all of my heart. But the allegations, the blames. All have ruined the image in my father's eyes."
Samara couldn't believe her ears. "My brother isn't a beast, Ida. He took a seven arrows to save his army. He is the bravest man alive. Why wouldn't you try fighting your father for him?"
Ida shook her head helplessly. "I cannot disobey my father, Samara. I am helpless. Forgive me," she sobbed.
"Do you not care how Samuel is feeling after Nathaniel announced it in front of the whole army about your betrothal with him? My brother has lost his soul," she said, angrily. "Ida, don't be afraid. Try to make request to your father. Stop him until the beast is caught. Later, your father will have to accept him."
"Nathaniel won't back down," said Ida with nervousness in his eyes. "He is impatient towards the marriage."
It pinched right at her heart. But Samara didn't care anymore. She loved Rodwin and she didn't have to feel hurt anymore because of Nathaniel.
"Did he touch you?" She asked immediately.
Ida gulped, knowing how much close Nathaniel and Samara had been. "He kissed me."
"Once?" asked Samara while gritting her teeth.
"Every time, he caught me alone in the corridors of the castle." Ida said while sobbing softly. Seeing the hurt in Samara's eyes, she begged, "I never wanted to do it, Samara. But Nathaniel blackmailed me. He said, he would ask his father to remove your father from his status of a Knight."
