Thinking deeply about what the seer had told her, Samara couldn't help but get more confused about her feelings. The whole village was worried about the beast who had attacked people on the full moon light and would keep doing it on further nights.
But the trouble was more than this for her. She was afraid that this beast was one of the men she knew. It could be her brother. It could be Nathaniel, or Rodwin or even Davis.
She couldn't talk to anybody about this too. Violet had gone to meet Logan towards the grounds.
Samara was slightly amazed as how even in such a dangerous environment, even if it was the day—how could Violet be so brave? She herself couldn't dare to step into forest just to meet her lover.
But who was she blaming? She remembered how many nights, she had walked alone through the forest just so she could have a sight of Nathaniel. It hurt her heart that he hadn't made any effort to see her after what happened at the castle.
Her mind being too much pressurized by these thoughts, Samara didn't realize that someone was following her in this abandoned street. A scream escaped her mouth when an arm snaked around her waist, turning her around only to push her in the wall.
Now, she remembered the familiar face in this familiar street. Her childhood was filled with moments like these. Where he had kidnapped her to this street just to steal kisses from her willingly.
She hated how her heart was beating faster while looking in his eyes, guessing that he too was remembering those moments.
"How is the love of my life doing, walking alone in the streets?" whispered Rodwin while smiling cheekily.
Samara's lips parted at hearing him, her eyes zoomed in him, breaking her heart at how hopeful he looked of receiving the same amount of compassion from her.
"Rodwin. . ." His eyes were already sleepy as he didn't wait to let her say and leaned in for a passionate kiss, cupping her cheeks along.
Samara pushed at his chest, feeling as if she was playing with his heart by acting this way. She wasn't ready for this much love from him. She was still confused and it was better to stop playing than feeling guilt all over.
She pushed hard but Rodwin didn't budge. His big hand lowered on her waist, grabbing her hips, squeezing them when Samara groaned hard while pushing him way. This time, Rodwin let her react the way.
His grey orbs stoned on her while his lips straightened in a thin line. Samara gulped, feeling afraid to even give any reason for behaving this way with him. It wasn't his fault. He made her feel wanted that night. He made her feel loved.
He still was being the best lover she could get yet her heart was still in hope of getting apologetic words from Nathaniel. She would gladly move on once she would be confirmed that she didn't give him a chance to explain his condition that night.
Though, a little part of her heart knew that this would hurt Rodwin to the core. She blinked slowly, swallowing while observing his blank face.
"I was returning from the castle," Rodwin told her slowly. "When I saw you here, I thought to surprise you. Instead, you look horrified."
Samara lowered her eyes in nervousness. "No. . ." She looked backed at him. "Horrified?" She laughed nervously. "I was just startled."
"You scared me."
But the answer wasn't enough for Rodwin's heart. His eyes observed her keenly.
"You didn't push me away, last night. When I was on your bed, on your nearly naked body. I grabbed your butts, I grabbed your tits, lovingly. You know I love you, Samara." He spoke blankly. "Then what changed now?"
