Logan stared at his hand.
Waiting for something to happen.
For the fur to come out, prickling him on every inch. For the claws to protrude further from his nails. For the canines to sharp out from his jaws. For the pain to arrive. For the lust.
He stared at up at the raining sky while sighing heavily.
Nothing was happening.
He felt extremely lazy to even think of staying awake anymore.
Why would these people doubt him like that? Why would Violet be the most extreme of them?
He rubbed his forehead while walking back to his bed and laying down. Staring at the ceiling, he felt the aching heart in his chest.
If he fell asleep tonight, he wouldn't be able to know if he was the beast.
If he didn't, he might just tire himself out enough to not being able to go to the wedding tomorrow.
He would simply close his eyes and stay awake. Tomorrow, the two ministers and the Knights would give their report to the King. The Werewolf would be caught.
But what if all signs were going against him? He needed to have the proof to save himself.
He was the biggest witness for himself as he wasn't changing now. Was he? He wasn't the beast, he told himself.
Turning on his stomach, he looked at the rain through the window. Only if he hadn't gone to the cave.
He would have been sleeping peacefully these last nights. Except the ones where he had to volunteer with Erasmus to look out in the forest.
The heaviness started spreading on his eyes as he blinked slowly.
Maybe, Pylas was just a myth.
An illusion.
Maybe, this Werewolf saga was just a made up story.
To create terror.
Maybe, someone was playing murderer while hiding behind this beast.
Seeking the adventure.
But many had seen the Werewolf. Hadn't they?
Logan himself had seen him the night he had tried to save Violet. Only if she could focus on that night instead of the one when he went to the cave.
He sighed.
What that beast was even doing?
Changing into a Werewolf at night and settle his thirst for blood. Changing into human in the day to rest the madness for sometime.
The soldier was doing his duty while the Werewolf was following his nature.
It was as simple as it could be.
But only if it was this simple.
People were getting killed.
But people were also ready to kill.
He couldn't forget how the villagers were raising slogans for Rodwin to get burned. He couldn't ignore how most of the soldiers had starting ignoring Samuel when he was targeted and accused.
