Mixed Emotions

Emily ran away from the auditorium. She can't figure out where she wants to go but she wanted to go as far as she could. Her heart, it's beating really fast like she ran a marathon while singing. How could she not know that it's going to be him. How could she not figure out that Bret was into something.

Yes, she considers herself a big hypocrite, pretender and a liar. They're not even halfway with their childish list yet her feelings suddenly came back like she was in some sort of amnesia and it's coming back all at once. She wanted to stop it but seeing him almost everyday isn't helping. His smiles, his awkward jokes, his voice. Everything about him just makes her fall and she doesn't want to but she can't stop herself. It's been driving her crazy! Yet, when she looks at him, all she could see is the friendship in his eyes. She wanted him to move on and now when they're finally working out their friendship, her stupid heart intervenes again.

"Hey, are you okay?"

Emily was suddenly dragged back to reality and she quickly straightened up and pretended to cough. She doesn't need to look at the person to know who he is. "Yes. I just thought I messed up." she reasoned out and faced him, she plastered a smile and started making gestures. "You know, at the chorus, my voice was shaky and I wasn't even expecting you to be there. I mean, I wasn't prepared. And the crowd seems to like you and-"

And that's when Tommie kissed her. His hands were cupping her face as if her face is the most fragile thing. And there she was, drowning into mixed emotions.

Tommie isn't ready to end the kiss. He is scared of her reactions. What if she runs away again. What if she gets angry. Too many what ifs inside his mind but all he wants is to keep her and hug her and just be selfishly happy with her.

But he needs to face her reaction and so he gently ended their kiss and both of them were catching their breath.

She is staring to his eyes as he was to hers.

"Tommie...." then she faded. Emily couldn't find any words inside her tiny mind. She felt like her brain became mute.

"Emily I love you. I tried to stop it but I love you. I can't look at you without smiling. I love you to the point words aren't even enough." he said in a whisper-y voice only enough for her t hear it clearly.

She likes him. No, she loves him. She just simply fell for him for a reason she couldn't even explain.

"Emily, say something please." Tommie muttered.

"I love you too, Tommie. I just.. I just love you too." she answered and that's when he kissed her again.

Years he tried and years he failed. For some reason, Damon finds himself watching from afar again. It felt like a memory being relived ponce again but this time, it's a little different. She was sitting there with him, smiling and happy.

Often times he would wonder and ask himself why he even returned. Bret already told him that both Emily and Tommie are happy yet his stupid logic insisted to come home and see it for himself. And it just made his heart more shattered than it already is.

With that sight, he turned around and pocketed his hands in his pocket. So much for a run in the part, he ended up breaking his heart.

"How's your day Doctor Damon?" a little Miss greeted him when he arrived in his house.

"Doctor Damon?" he smiled.

"Yes, dad. Duh? You're not deaf." Emilia answered dully.

"I'm not a doctor when I'm not wearing my coat, honey."
