A dark face loomed over Cas.

Castiels heart was beating faster then he could count.

"Hello Brother."

Gabriel.

Cas pushed him away as he sat up. Without looking at Gabriel he headed outside quietly and closed the door behind him, trying not to wake up Sam.

"What do you want Gabriel?" Cas snapped with venom in his voice. He crossed his arms like a 7 year old.

"Just came to talk Castiel. Calm your cheese." He spoke, taking a loose step toward cas, holding his hands out as if to show he had nothing up his sleeve. That liar.

"Just leave me alone Gabriel. I'm busy." Cas looked away toward the parking lot. "Besides, it's not safe to talk any more. The war still goes on up in heaven and there are spies everywhere. It's not safe."

"calm down little brother, everything is fine. i know how to hide from those chuckle heads. they don't even know i'm alive." Gabriel chuckled. he never really worried about the angels. he all thought they were just overlarge baboons that thought that they were all that.

Castiel frowned at him. "do not misplace them brother. i once thought they were nothing but that was before all hell broke loose and Dean was dead. they can find and will find you one of these days."

rolling his eyes, Gabriel spun around on his heal and stared walking down the path, passing dark rooms full of sleeping people.

"where do you think your going?' Cas demanded, jogging to keep up with Gabriel.

"over here." he retorted back.

Castiel was about to grab onto Gabriels arm but Gabe stopped suddenly, making Cas bump into him.

"what th-" Castiel started but Gabriel interrupted him. "shh. im trying to decide." he whispered.

before Gabriel stood a snack machine full of junk food. Gabe and Cas were silent as Gabe stared into the machine as if it was heaven, the light illuminating their faces. Castiel never understood why people enjoy junk food. it's just corn and chemicals. he had tried it once. his vessel has enjoyed it but he could immediately feel his blood start to thicken and it made the angel sick to his stomach, which made Cas wonder how Gabe could stand eating this food.

"ga-" Cas was once again interrupted by Gabriel was was now punching numbers into the machine and making a bag on Doritos fall into the bottom. Gabe reached into the slot and pulled out the bag of chips. he turned toward Cas and opened the bag.

Cas was about to continue but Gabriel held up one finger. he stuffed two chips into his mouth and spoke. "now you may continue." he mumbled with his full mouth.

Castiel sighed and glanced at his feet then looked Gabriel in the eye."why did you come here Gabriel?'

cheese powder sprinkled across Gabriel's chin in the dark. he spoke once again with a full mouth. "i heard Dean is back in the pit."

"you don't know that Gabriel!" Cas growled, venom seemed to drip from his voice. "he could be in heaven!!"

Castiel's muscles were flexing in his back out of habit. this would be a moment when Cas would spread his wings to intimidate his brother. but he couldn't do that because he didn't have his wings any more. because he fell. ever since he fell the only thing he felt good at was hunting with Sam and Dean but that barely helped any more. he felt useless. like he was a child in a trench coat that should grow up. but he couldn't. not without a hand to guide him. a rough hand with calluses and was made to hold a gun. Deans hand. too bad that adult would never be here to help him ever again. Too bad that hand was gone.

Gabriel smirked and cleared his mouth to speak. "or, it could be neither."

Cas raised an eyebrow confused.

"what so you mean it could be neither. we burned his bones. theres no other possible way to bring him back."

Shrugging, Gabriel looked Cas in the eye. "that you know of."

Cas was suddenly enraged. Who does he think he is! telling Cas that Dean could still be out there. He was dead and Cas had just began to accept that. he didn't need Gabriel to mess that all up and give him hope. that was the last thing Cas needed at the moment.

"there's no other possible way Gabriel, now drop it!!" Cas yelled angrily, grinding his teeth together.

Gabriel took a step back, shrugging his arms back in surrender. "All right, all right. but just remember, not every things as it seems."

And with that, the Trickster snapped his cheese coated fingers and smiled at him with mouth full of chips and he was gone, leaving Cas to question what Gabriel meant by that. something started to spark in Cas he hadn't felt in a long time and he almost didn't recognize it. it flooded through his veins and warmed his heart. it was just a spark but it had such a big affect on him. A spark of hope.

for some reason i don't really want to end the chapter right there since its kinda short so im just going to write something else. just a teaser. its not the best but i hope you enjoy it. ;)

looking in the night sky i couldn't help but think about what Gabriel said. what is he said was true? was he paying one of his tricks?

Confusion swept through my mind as i snuck back to the hotel room.

i felt so tired with everything that was going on yet i still couldn't sleep. i miss sleep.

i went into our hotel room and looked around the cramped space to find nothing. i don't know what i was hoping to see. Maybe the ghost of brothers past? Ha! right.

i fell back onto my bed and sighed staring at the ceiling and waiting for Cas to get back.

I don't know how long i laid there but it seemed out be a while because next thing i knew it was morning. i don't know if i fell asleep or not but what i did know was Cas still wasn't back and i was starting to really worry about him. where was he?

i quickly scrambled up, gathered all our things and headed out the door to the impala.

My foot steps seemed to be the only sound out here in the early morning. no one wanted to get up this early. i didn't blame them.

As i approached the Impala i saw a figure in a trench coat sleeping soundly. sighing i shook my head and went to go wake him up when i saw a figure in the front seat out of the corner in my eye. i went to look at it but found nothing there. probably the mirrors messing with me.

Shrugging i opened the impala to wake the sleeping fall angel.
