Bryanna is still not doing great. Max and I are trying to help save her. She's stopped bleeding for now, but she needs to pull through. Her pulse is faint, and I'm assuming she's in a coma from all the blood loss and a hard hit on the head. "We now just have to wait. I can't stitch her up until we get back to the house for the supplies." I frown and look at Max. He is still and focusing on Bry. I can tell he loves her. When we were at high school, Max and her would always make eye contact. I told her he likes her, but she never had faith in herself. She also told me that Shawn liked me, I guess we were both right. I look over at Shawn who is also concerned, and we lock eyes. I part a smile and continue to look at his eyes. His white smile spreads across his beautiful face. I stand up and wipe my blood stained hands off on my sweater. "Wait. Isn't there something else you can do?!" Max stands up and yells at me. "I'm sorry. I can't do anything until she comes back. She's in a coma, Max." He frowns and looks at Shawn. Max is pulled into a hug by Shawn and patted on the back. He rejoins Bryanna while I walk away for a break. The fall sun goes closer to the horizon while the breeze blows the dead leaves across the pavement. "Hey. Look, I know now's not a good time. But wanna go for a walk at our favourite spot?" Shawn asks me. "You know what? Now's the perfect time. I need a break from this." We embrace hands and walk down the alley way. We eventually reach the beach and I place my things down. "Care to dance?" He smirks at me. I blush. "I can't dance." He laughs. "Sure you can. C'mon. It'll be fun." He runs his fingers through my hair. "Fine." I sigh. "What will we dance to?" I ask him. "The sound of the waves crashing against the shore, and the sounds of our hearts pounding with love." He tries to say romantically. His corniness makes me light up. I find it cute. "Caroline. May I have this dance?" He looks deep into my eyes. "Oh Shawn. Of course." We both laugh and start to slow dance. Surprising I wasn't too bad. Then a familiar song plays in my head;
"Cause we were just kids when we fell in love not knowing what it was
I will not give you up this time
But darling just kiss me slow
Your heart is all I own
And in your eyes you're holding mine
Baby I'm dancing in the dark
With you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass listening to our favourite song
When you said you looked a mess I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it, darling you look perfect tonight.
We stop dancing and he pulls me near the water. Our eyes meet as well as our lips. He pulls me into a passionate kiss and we continue to walk along the beach watching the sun finally go down. Shawn always knows how to treat me right. I look into his eyes. "I love you." I spill out. Did I really just blurt out I love you? I mean, it's true though. I really do. He looks at me shocked and happy. "R-really?" He looks at the ground. "Umm. Yeah. I-I love you." I blush and he looks up. "I love you too Caroline." He smiles at me and I run my fingers through his hair as we kiss. Wow. I love him. <3
