We finally approach the hospital and walk up towards the gates. Thankfully we managed to squirm our way through the diseased bodies without any harm done.

Since the hospital is farther out from the herd, and it's in the outskirts of Toronto, we don't see any Spreaders. I take a sigh of relief forgetting what still needs to be done.

I look over to Bryanna who is bleeding from her arm.

"Oh my gosh! Bryanna! Are you okay?!" I ask in a panic.

Her face looks pale and flushed, the wound on her arm is clearly a bite mark. She is off-balanced and weak.

"Come on Bry, we need to get you to a room." Man, I really hope this antidote I came up with works.

------------------------------

We reach one of the many bedrooms and I help her over to the bed. I close and lock the door, incase any of the Spreaders from the herd find this place. I carefully place my supplies onto the metal side table and I look around for the other things needed.

"What were you thinking Bryanna?" I already knew the answer, but it still wasn't apart of the original plan.

She groans in pain and discomfort. "Can we not talk about this now? You know I needed to get bit or scratched to make sure this antidote works."

I nod in agreement.

I can hear my heart beating in my ears, my legs shake, and nerves fill my body. If I can't cure her, she will die, and I'll have to kill her. Just the thought of killing my best friend makes me sick to my stomach. Okay, breathe, you got this.

I eventually pull myself together and place the rest of the tools onto the table. I get my five belts and head over to Bry.

"You ready?" I ask her nervously.

"Y-Yes, do it." She lets out a huge breath.

I strap one belt to the table and around her torso. Next, I do the same for each leg, and lastly both of her wrists. This is to insure I wont get hurt in the process of her turning.

"Ok, I'm going to give you some morpheme to help the pain." I put the I.V into the top of her hand and pump her some meds.

"Hey Caroline? I just want to let you know that if anything happens to me-"

I quickly cut her off, "Nothing is going to happen, you are going to help cure so many people, and you will be fine okay?"

She nods her head.

I feel awful testing this on her, but nobody else offered except her. Man, I really hope this works.

"Get some rest." I comfort her.

"One more thing," She continues. "I made a letter ahead of time incase anything did happen to me. I just want you to make sure it will be read by others including yourself if anything does happen. Please promise me that."

"I promise."

She smiles and her face relaxes as she falls into her pillow.

-----------------------------

What feels like hours finally passes. It smells putrid in here. I look up from preparing the needle to see this dead like creature in front of me. I never thought I would see her as a Spreader. Messed up hair, torn clothing, rancid breath, pale ghost like skin, and covered in blood from her wound. I knew she was turning quite awhile ago, but I couldn't bare to look at it.

"Okay, it's time." I encourage myself.

It's no longer a living being, it's not Bryanna, she's dead now.

That sentence keeps repeating in my head over and over again.

I walk closer to her with the needle in my left hand, and my knife in the other.

She looks at me dead in the eyes and I suddenly feel unsure if it will work. She's suffering, I can't let her be in pain anymore.

I raise my one arm, debating whether or not to use the knife or try to save her.

I eventually make up my mind.

I lower my one arm and raise the other, as I jab the sharp object into her neck.

"I'm sorry." I whisper.
